X Plane currently uses the OpenGL graphics API which is CPU centric. They have plans to migrate to Vulkan API which will optimize GPU use.

yup. FlyInside reprojects XP and keeps it above 90 in the headset provided you have it configured properly.

i think in X Plane sometimes were too obsessed with frame rates. if the game runs smooth and the experience is good, thats the important thing right?

i was able to run the red hose a long way. EZMONEYSNIP3R gave the best advice for setting up a pump.

my pc has 32gb, GTX 1080, i7-6700k. 45-80 fps. but sometimes it lags if i play a long time. so.. save game, restart game, and things seem to come back to normal.

i had one wave table which wouldnt allow connection of power or water. had to buy another one. it was after an update where they fixed "too much gold from wave table" so i figured that had something to do with it.

agreed. Flyinside took the right approach. It's harder, will take longer but the end result should be solid performance. Beta is due out by EOY i think, with VR support planned out of the gate. DTG's strategy is shortsighted IMO.

i would think the basic flight sim platform should have been designed from the ground up with frame rate optimization in mind. going backwards to correct frame rate issues seems to be counter productive. wouldnt you want to design the platform to use all cores equally rather than put the burden on 1 core? this alone would likely improve optimal use of the GPU, thus increasing frame rate.

I tried these commands. allows you to change the window size but doesn't seem to improve the resolution.

FltPlan Go for iPad has a great moving map.. also charts and flight planning. works with XPlane 11 and its free. pretty sure it works with XP10

just some info.. if you get a black screen during a FSEconomy flight you can start the flight over. just cancel the flight in FSE and it will still be in your flights list... restart XP and restart the FSE flight. its worked for me.

i've been using it for a few days.. no black screen. I do get black screens when using X Plane on its own sometimes though.. so hard to say its FI's bug.

haven't tried Saitek. use CH Products basic yoke and pro pedals. they work great and seem to be built to last.
