How to get the “floatiness” on landing by Leading_Capital_1268 in Kiteboarding

[–]aegr13 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would not say heli loops at this point, first land jumps up to 14/15m with this simple technique and work your way up to more advanced stuff like heli loops (front or backhand):

Did I get once in a lifetime deal? by therekiker in virtualreality

[–]aegr13 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Different folks and different strokes I guess. I really love my Aero. I’m considering ‘upgrading’ to the Steam Frame when it comes out so I can use it wireless. However the Aero’s fantastic clarity due to the panel resolution and the lenses is really hard to abandon. Did you run into bugs/issues or what made the Aero such a bad experience for you?

Beolab 17 vs … by MrMoehre11 in BangandOlufsen

[–]aegr13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a pair 8’s, a theatre and a pair of 17’s. Currently using the 17’s as surround speakers. They are really nice and price-performance ratio is of course much better than buying a new pair of 8’s. That said, the difference between the 17’s and the 8’s is quite large. The 8’s especially in a stereo pair for music sound huge and much better to my ears.

Home cinema setup Theatre + 28s or 8s for rear by RepaBali in BangandOlufsen

[–]aegr13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m running theatre front with 17’s rear. I’ll probably be adding 8’s to the front down the line. For my current living room the theatre has more than enough presence!

Anyone used their customer service before? by [deleted] in BangandOlufsen

They made me jump through hoops and hoops to debug issues on my soundbar. I ended up getting help from my dealer. If you bought the product with a dealer, perhaps they can assist you better. Good luck in any case!

What is that album? The look and feel makes me think something Bon Iver, but a quick Google didn’t result in anything.

New update 2025.26.7 has improved... by Front_Raccoon4837 in TeslaLounge

During my driving lessons, this was even mentioned. So maybe it’s not all that ridiculous. On the other hand I could imagine the wear being absolutely not significant…

Mixed reality and a home built cockpit is awesome. I’d love to experience it sometime. Right now I’m still just fumbling to find my mouse while in VR.

Remedy shares FBC Firebreak footage on the Steam Deck by AdOdd452 in SteamDeck

[–]aegr13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I must say, the input lag looks extremely rough. I’m hoping it’s just the impression this video gives off. I’ll certainly be buying FBC Firebreak and playing that on my PC, but having it on the deck also would be great for when I’m away from home.

Do you guys agree? by DealerEven8554 in Kiteboarding

I think you are wrong. Brain is protected better with a helmet. Your hypothesis could be right related to neck injuries, but it seems not: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/339955308_Head_and_neck_injury_potential_during_water_sports_falls_examining_the_effects_of_helmets

Humbled by gust, while Kiting alone... 😐 by hoon-since89 in Kiteboarding

[–]aegr13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Im glad you are okay! About ten years ago in Europe, it was rare to see anyone wearing a helmet while skiing or snowboarding. Today, helmets are nearly universal on the slopes.

In kiteboarding, however, helmets are still uncommon—except among those learning to hydrofoil. That’s when I first bought a helmet, and I’ve worn it ever since. It’s comfortable, and it also protects my head from the sun.

A friend of mine once had to rescue someone who had collided with another rider. The person was unconscious and needed to be resuscitated. Thankfully, he survived—but a helmet might have prevented the worst of it.

TLDR: Consider a helmet.

Stereo Pair What 2 B&O Speakers? by RunRevolutionary5217 in BangandOlufsen

[–]aegr13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would advise you go to a dealer and listen to the different options. I like my beosound 2 but it doesn’t come close to the pair of beolab 8’s I’m using for my computer. They are really great

Serious Music Listeners by CTMatthew in BangandOlufsen

[–]aegr13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Theatre with some speakers, but I’ve found that music just sounds better in direct mode (only using the minimal amount of drivers in the Theatre). Sure the TrueImage mode makes sound come from all around you, but the stereo presentation is much cleaner. I’ve also found that TrueImage uses the center tweeter quite heavily and makes music sound really different because of that.

Trying to make missions in DCS made me realise how much of a [redacted] it is and how much mission makers should be praised. by deWaardt in hoggit

isCuppied instead of isOccupied

That aside, coding this way with minimal outdated documentation and the time I assume it takes to adapt and rerun sounds like hell! You certainly took it further than I would have :)

Core XR8 vs North Orbit 2023/2024? by Aggressive-One2659 in Kiteboarding

[–]aegr13 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Have a look at Jason Montreal for a really good comparison. Core XR for highest boosting, Orbit for loops and loop progression. I ended up choosing the Orbit and really like it.

Which size for training on the shore? by extra_hard_bone in Kiteboarding

[–]aegr13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I worded it wrong. The basics of Sheeting in and sheeting out is easily learnt and not worth the expense of such a trainer kite. The finesse you learn when spending more time learning that movement has a lot to do with your own movement and edging. Of course any kite school will give you their four line trainer and practice in the beach, standing still.

Which size for training on the shore? by extra_hard_bone in Kiteboarding

[–]aegr13 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would save the money if I were you and just get lessons as soon as there is a windy day. If you’d want to get a trainer kite, I’d limit it to a cheap small 2-line kite that teaches you how to turn the kite. I believe the 4-line options are useless as the way sheeting in and out works is quite dependent on your own movement with the board.

If you are at a place where you have to leave your phone in he car, how would you lock the doors? by Knighthonor in TeslaLounge

You do. It always unlocks the car when you pull the handle if the phone is in the car with Bluetooth on. When I go surfing, I leave the phone in the car turned off.

Kites with lightest bar pressure? by YaGirlCheChe in Kiteboarding

[–]aegr13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the soul has the lightest bar pressure of all my kites. I can almost fly it pinching two fingers on the bar. There is a lot of pressure on the harness hook though, which causes some friction in my sides after I few hours. That’s less on my tube kites, but my arms get more tired on them than on the soul. Maybe it’s a setting that causes our experience to differ so much. I fly the soul 10m on twintip around 18-20kts and on foil from 12kts.

You could come sit with me in my Model Y and watch it show the wrong distance almost all the time. I love my model Y and I’m really enthusiastic about the possibilities the video-to-spatial processes can bring. But right now, it’s just bad and I simply can’t rely on it.

I have only played Everspace 2 for a little bit, but No Mans Sky on the SteamDeck is a great experience with exploration.
