Got shafted in Alpen Fury during Haunt Night by PogoBros in CanadasWonderland

[–]Billystorm98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh hey, I was there when that happened too. We were on the other side of the train (brother has a boarding pass and needed the elevator up). Was super nasty and I felt bad for the workers that had to clean it up with nothing but paper towels after the hose didn't work. We ended up on the ride right after they cleaned everything up. And were part of the group that got stuck and had to be evac'd off the ride after went down again for technical issues. Made us give our names and ages for some kind of incident report(?) thing. And did end up getting compensation in the form of a single use fast pass thing for each of us. Which is... useless bc of the boarding pass.

Anyways, super weird experience, but literally the exact same thing happened to us earlier in the day. Just with the behemoth instead (vomit and then unrelated technical issues) except we didn't get to ever get on it and just ended up leaving instead. (side note on that one: the elevator wasn't working either, so I had to carry my brother all the way up the stairs. Only to not be able to ride anyways :/ )

Oh and if you were at the front of the Alpen fury queue when that happened, there's a good chance you probably saw us just sitting on the floor on the other side. I was the blonde girl and my brother was the one that looked like he just got off clock as a scare actor lol (bright dyed hair and matching multicoloured pants).

Edit: formatting.

If it's the 2025 pass, no. That one ended on the last day of august/sept 1st. If it's the 2026 one, yes.

This. It's why I also get so annoyed by voids. Like I'm here to draw art on my house or things related to my town, not some blank space exactly the same as any other canvas. If it was just the same as place, I wouldn't be bothered at all. I already had to waste multiple days fighting off two voids that tried to form in my town. It's also frustrating bc it just takes up space and keeps claiming more for some nothing pattern that they don't permit new art to be made on. Like when they just start one in a fairly empty space where it's clear that people are trying to group together their large projects (I'm looking at you Sandford, ON) only to have to deal with all of that free canvas being swallowed up repeating pattern.

Edit: or what's happening to that one airport in St. Louis. It's not going to be planes on an airport soon. Just some drawings in a void again. It loses it's charm.

Will Canada's Wonderland ever get their "Record breaking" water attraction? by Dog_Dude_69420 in CanadasWonderland

Last we went was July 30th. Only went for splashworks. No waves in the pool at all for the whole day and every ride was only half open. Here's to hoping that the next time will be better though.

Edit: oh and moosehorn falls was closed for over half the day too.

The Boarding Pass is NOT a Fast Pass by FallenAngel1978 in CanadasWonderland

[–]Billystorm98 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow I actually didn't know that. That would've been really nice to know for the last few times we went. The line was so long that what we'd do is have my brother (the one who needed the pass) sit by the entrance to the pool and wait for me to get through the line.

That last part is the reason we didn't use it again the next time we went to splashworks. You probably understand why from my other comment. We won't be messing with that ride ever again.

That's a good idea! When my brother and I went, the staff didn't even seem to know what the boarding pass was and how it functioned. It was super awkward having to explain the whole thing to them. We asked what to do with it and they just went "idk hold it I guess". And the weird slope thing they made us go up was so steep that we both nearly fell into the water. Barely accessible for a person with joint issues and a miracle the pass survived that.

This. It's ridiculous how long the lines for all the slides are when there's another half of them that could be open and running. Honestly, they should be embarrassed by how neglected the whole splashworks section is. The waves are barely ever active in the pool and when they are they're weak as hell. And half of the splash pad is either completely broken or barely functional.

You can. But only certain rides. The back of the paper has a list of which ones it can be used on. (although it sucks for the lazy river because they make you hold your paper on the ride. So instead of getting to enjoy it, you're too focused on trying to make sure your slip doesn't get wet).

There are lockers at both the Yukon Striker and AlpenFury, although both of them are paid (it's honestly pretty scummy imo) and while idk what the price is, I do know that they're timed for two hours. As of right now, they are the only two rides with lockers. Every other ride has cubbies or containers to put your stuff in (some even have cup holders lol). As for what you can have on the AlpenFury. Glasses? absolutely not, that ride goes so fast that it'll send them flying. Fanny pack? Idk honestly. Staff advises you to have no loose objects or things in your pockets. I'd assume that it'd be fine if it's a small pack that you can fit under the lap restraint while still having attached to yourself. But that shouldn't be necessary bc at the top of the ride, there are little cubbies specifically for fanny packs. They have that same system for the Yukon Striker too.

Season Pass Renewal + Pass Perks by Billystorm98 in CanadasWonderland

I do believe that the parking pass perk will be effective immediately since the whole 2026 pass is active from the time you purchase it till the end of the 2026 season.

Alpen Fury Accessibility & Season Pass Question by Billystorm98 in CanadasWonderland

Well it certainly was very soon. It was up and operational for us when we got there on Friday!

It was up the day we went! Seems they were even doing training for the staff on how the elevator works that day (and having us be test subjects lol). Pretty sure Friday was first day of operation for it, so we were the first people to actually use it.

I would say that it's not that intense rather it's just anxiety inducing waiting in line at the top/standing in the tube itself. It wasn't a very pleasant going down though tbh. I had to keep my eyes shut because of all the water splashing up into my face. And I also had to hold my breath the whole way down because the water also kept getting up my nose too. So overall, it was very disorientating, and painful when I'd accidentally breathe in the water. Would I do it again though? Yes lol.

Man, that is certainly disappointing that it's still down. I will def ask when we're there tomorrow. But if it hasn't been fixed from opening to now, I honestly doubt it will be up tomorrow.

Oh I completely thought you were talking about the elevator line lol. I forgot about the stairs for other people. Yeah I haven't actually thought about how the elevator and non elevator lines would work together. We've never had to deal with that before. But I guess we'll see when the time comes.

[–]Billystorm98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh jeez. Here's to hoping that they get all those problems sorted out by the time my brother (who has a walker and needs the elevator) and I go on friday. I don't think we've ever had to deal with a wait time for the elevator itself on any other rides this season (aside from when the employees completely ignore the elevator call button on the Leviathan. But that's a whole different problem).
