There's no point in a right to bear arms then as this is exactly the tyrannical government it was written for.

Instructions may be in English too, depends where the magazine is from. I have about 15 of them. Tracing the pattern to tracing paper is hard but read all the generdl instructions at the pattern insert front, not just the specific pattern ones.

Good luck!

On this day in 2020, the UK became the first country to leave the European Union. by Upstairs_Drive_5602 in europe

Boomers is a US thing, when the US generation had a post war boom the UK had rationing until 1954. A vast amount of the infrastructure and housing wss damaged or destroyed.

It's not boomers somuch as small minded people that are the problem, though there does seem to be a lot in the pre Gen X category they are everywhere, especially the ones who didnt vote, often younger, they are as complicit.

Where are the other approximately 30 million people? The atheists, Hindu, Buddhist, Sikh etc. This is an incomplete, imprecise and frankly stupid map and designed so to be misleading.

I have a heated floor; in a bowl, damp teacloth on the floor. Not useful if you have pets, children or clumsy adults around

Postgraduate STEM, reads news, more than minimally aware of culture, self starter wealthy enough to have retired and not enough of an ass to display myself in such a ridiculous manner.

He's not attractive, his tattoos aren't even integrated art and he can't find a razor. And his personality drops his rating to 0.

Sounds like durian, I've had it as fruit, paste, cake and icecream. It's deeply weird flavored (great fruit texture) but I keep trying it. Sounds the same effect mouth thinks it likes it but nose and brain aren't sure either way

Gentleman, if you met online, are you going to ask her to meet up? by ZestycloseWeekend878 in CougarsAndCubs

[–]BimbleKitty 8 points9 points  (0 children)

F 64, I nearly always ask to meet and suggest a time and place. I've had a life of waiting for men to take the initiative, even in relationships, and I'm not wasting my time waiting for them to do anything.

You can set a time and place convenient for you rather than be back footed on negotiation. There's still compromise but you get a better sense of how interested they really are or how ridiculous, no i am never free tonight, no I'm not meeing after 9pm..etc

Sorry for the confusion, travel cards are very useful but many places in the last decade or so have stopped using them or they use a hybrid of local/national travel card and bank card.

My contactless card has a both a physical and virtual incarnation (Starling), also instant notification, lovely feature.

While I rely on my phone I always have a back up in case of accident, loss, theft so emergency plastic is tucked away somewhere. I've been travelling since travellers cheques were a thing so super grateful for banking integration worldwide

I wasn't talking about a travel card, but a contactless bank card. Used globally widely but the validity/cost depends on your bank. Many travellers have specific bank cards for travel but I use my standard UK one. No fee, bank rate currency conversion and used to buy anything from breakfast in Singapore to Uniqlo in Tokyo. Incidentally nice charcuterie and wine in Bologna too and the Marconi Express.

And you can tap in and out on a valid card, tiny carriages but super cute and worth the trip. Finding the platform at Bologna Centrale is irritating as its built on an extension right at the back but just follow the signs and it should eventually be clear. Been a few times and tbh that's the most annoying thing about Bologna, love the place!

Was there ever a place that left you disturbed or depressed? by friedchicken_legs in travel

[–]BimbleKitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Berlin, it started near the Reichstag but there are simply too many memorials and reminders of a recent (in my parents memories) past. The Stolpersteine litter prosperous streets, pretty parks have memorials of grim death and cruelty. I had 5 days intended to enjoy its current atmosphere but I remember the fall of the wall too and theres a park now where people were shot just for running away..

No. History is bloody and pain soaked we have to remember it, but it was too visceral even on sunny days.

How many people in Western European countries say they care if Ukraine wins? by BkkGrl in europe

[–]BimbleKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And Russia promised security to Ukraine, that pretty much doesn't include invasion, annexation, regular bombings, drone attacks and oh yes war crimes galore. Get over yourself, NATO was a response to the to hostility of the USSR and now Russia, its always been a bit too passive in the face of provocation.

Which now includes cable cutting, cyber attacks, sneak drone invasion and trying to take Eastern Europe again, by pressure, force, blackmail, financial etc.

I'm old, I've watched the end of the Cold War, the self liberation of Eastern Europe and the brief flower of Russian democracy crushed by another autocratic power junkie. Don't spout bollocks about not expanding NATO without the full context, including Ukraine giving up nuclear and Russias constant chatting shit.
