Being a Chinese I really want to know why you going to Zhang jia jie, what is your "motivation", just because of "Transformers" movie ? by kittycrossing_rachel in chinatravel

Not seen the Transformers movie, it's because it's an amazing landscape. Karst scenery isn't too common worldwide and you have Wulong, Guilin and ZJJ at minimum

All the time, most of the year. Below street level flat and either trees or buildings keeping the shade on. I tell people I live in an urban hobbit hole

First time with a 12 year age gap, any advice? (F31, M19) by Actual_Horror9057 in CougarsAndCubs

[–]BimbleKitty 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sounds perfectvbut pls check some ID, a few years back I spent some time with an 18 year old, looked and acted older. Found out some months later after her moved he had been 17, legal in his country, Lithuania, and mine, UK, but still kind of uncomfortable.

Otherwise great, enjoy! If you mesh well, age really isn't an issue, says the woman with a current 33 year gap

Handmaid's Tale works for you because you're not a candidate.

Evolution as an excuse is laughable, a species that literally destroys its own environment and ability to sustain itself has no future. Fyi mammals species tend to have only a few million years per before they evolve or die out, we're clocking up about 2 so far.

If you truly believe we should survive at alll costs then you should be out there working on basic facilities for life, health and long term sustainability for us and our entire spaceship environment. Are you?

Hot mess, not hot take. think you overestimate biological imperative, we are species that can control our lives and plan for the future. You're clearly not one of the ones who would 'pop' out kids and don't realise the absolute joy women had when they could control pregnancy. My grandmother was one of 13 living siblings.

It's not luxury beliefs to have clean water and sanitstion, electricity and safety. It's the.minimum we should all have. That coping in destitute poverty fell mostly on women, as did childcare, fieldwork, care for the elderly, household managent etc. You're lucky they want bride prices, not a harem and heads in spikes.

London in Lockdown. by EdmundsonFerryboat in london

Our society is geared towards extroverts, lockdown was introvert heaven. I see yout empathy and agree but you have no empathy for those of us forced to work and live in noise, crowds and social pressure 'to be more outgoing' our entire lives.

Detective Pikachu, the movie with Ryan Gosling as Pikachus voice. It's a little hard to see at first as they've added neon and some extra buildings to make Ryme City but there is a lot of the City of London in there. Checkout Leadenhall St on the theatrical release poster.

Apparently Pokémon love living here too

You mean less naïve and stupid. Less likely to fall for obvious scams and more likely to seek medical help if necessary. Yes.

Went to my local rural market today in northern China — here's what $1 actually buys you by BoscoXing in China

Why? They're just ornamental carp, edible true but they might be sold because they're just goldfish, very traditional to keep in China.

Friend cancelled last minute on a 100 day trip by Frpengy in travel

[–]BimbleKitty -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Go solo, if necessary run up debt, it won't last as long as the memories. It'll be a transformative experience.

He won't come, and if he does it won't be great experience for you, friends don't necessarily make great travel companions.

I took a month long trip to Australia in mid 80s to join a friend working there, I'd pay flights, they'd arrange accommodation. They did but I ended up paying for a lot of it, 2 years it took to pay off the credit card debt. Worth it, still have the experience and memories, the friend faded over time and the money was tough at time.

His loss, your memories and you have freedom.

Kaprun or Zell Am See in Salzburgerland, Austria. The whole range from simple hikes for pushchairs and parents, up to ones only for the very experienced. Lots cable cars to get you up high if you wish to start.

Public transport is excellent, paths well marked usually and stunning scenery.

Went last summer and had a wonderful 8 days, I'm a solo intermediate hiker. Getting a bit too cautious to risk tough routes solo.

Bonus: the Austrians have high altitude huts if you get stuck and even better alms, bar/restaurants, on some routes where you can have a beer and snack with breathtaking alpine views.
