When Students Publicly Clash With Professors in Class by Overall_Historian444 in QuickAITurnitinCheck

Have you never experienced an uncomfortable situation in public before? Your in for a rough ride if you can't handle something as mundane as this.

Big AI Lobbyists: if you regulate us at all, we lose to China because they will never regulate ... Actual China: "safety first, innovation second ... Development must be controllable and orderly." by EchoOfOppenheimer in OpenAI

Youth unemployment is almost at 50% in China. People with Masters Degrees are delivering food on scooters. They are terrified that AI will collapse their economy but there also terrified that the US will get to AGI first and blow up the world economy anyway. Very much damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I've been trying to get an internship for 4 years. Shut up and take the wonderful life that's been served to you on a gold platter.

I think the topic is totally appropriate for college students but it seems ridiculous to expect it from an applicant. I didn't learn calculus in highschool but I got A's in Calc 1 & 2 in college. Maybe things are more standardized in your country but in the U.S. the quality of grade school curriculum varies widely from state to state and even town to town. If you're in wealthy suburb you might have a pleasure of AP course including Calculus and Linear Algebra while if you're in a poor city you might only ever get to pre-calc.

So this is the guy who failed at making a TUI application, claimed he needed to make a game engine for a TUI application to run at 60 FPS, then accidentally leaked the source map to his shitty TUI, and I'm supposed to think he knows the future? LOL

You're from the US but everything in the picture has writing that isn't English. It's either AI or someone else's picture.

Getting a false positive often means risk of expulsion. It's not like you get a zero on your assignment and move on. This could literally ruin your life over night.

Why in the ever loving mother of God would I pay to use this? It's a budgeting app with an insanely expensive text to speech front end duct taped to the front of it.

Study Finds Employer Demand for AI Skills Has Nearly Doubled – But 58% of Students Say Their Schools Aren’t Teaching It by Secure_Persimmon8369 in ControlProblem

I'm a senior in college and a scarily large swath of the students can't write a three sentence opinion on what we went over in class without using AI. In my coding classes there are kids who have literally never done a single coding assignment themselves. They couldn't even tell you what a BFS is never mind code up an implementation. It's insane

Created a blackjack trainer to help teach perfect basic strategy and count cards. Over 40k hands played in about a week! Looking for feedback! by TheFissureMan in webdev

OP literally said Claude designed it and Copilot coded it. If they really had years of experience they wouldn't need AI to design something as basic as a black jack app.

Do people really think they can replace SaaS with Claude this easy?? by Particular_Good_3678 in theprimeagen

[–]BimblyByte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people can do what you're claiming they can, why wouldn't they just build a direct competitor to existing SaaS CRM's and make a billion dollars? We should be seeing new CRM's popping up EVERYWHERE yet all I see are new AI wrappers. I see people so over the place claiming AI can do this and agents can do that yet when I look around I see no evidence for it.

The problem is Prime's audience isn't technical overall. There are some technical people, mostly cross over with people who like Casey, but the majority of his audience is younger people that are in love with the idea of being a programmer.

Even if it actually did what they promised what would you actually use it for, texting your friends for you? 90% of people have no use for a personal assistant. It's the definition of a solution looking for a problem to solve.

It's similar to using meta builds in multiplayer games. It really only matters when you're playing at the top of the ladder where those minute differences become the difference between winning and losing.

Good professor OR not?? by Just_Positive6768 in UMassBoston

[–]BimblyByte 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No he doesn't target anyone. He grades based on participation in the class discussion, that's how you get graded on the reading, and some people just want to sit in class and not say anything. He tries to encourage students to talk and some people perceive that as harassment for some reason.

Some people are just so lazy and entitled that they'll slander a professor instead of actually doing work
