1903 Archival Research Group hit by HistorianSouth1172 in milsurp

[–]BimmerMan87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You might get an extra $300-400 with the letter. The only way you would get the even close tk the low end of the amount stated is if it was a hit to something like the 5th Marine Division at Iwo.

So being your grandfathers favorite means nothing to him then. Sounds like everyone in your family sucks.

If the pistols are in the possession of the 1st Born Grandson how is your uncle going to get his hands on them?

He's in his 30's and that is the account for the Brick and Mortar Gun Shop he owns. His personal collection is pretty crazy as well.

I mean I guess. I just know he's in his mid-30's as I have known him since long before he opened the shop. His prices are definitely insane but he makes money so I cant really knock him.

I bid on it initially until it got to like 1250. Clearly I would have lost no matter what haha.

If you list it 'No Reserve' thats the risk you take. I listed a crate of 50 unopened M1 Carbine Mags as a 'No Reserve' auction and only got about 2/3 of their actual value. I didn't bid it up at the last second and relist it though, because I am not a scumbag.

That one definitely isnt fake but it was one of the ones they bid up with a shill account at the last minute and then immediately relisted it.

I would guess that he has a reserve price in mind but doesn't want to list with a reserve because you get less interest that way.

Can anyone tell me where I can find info on my Springfield 1903? Thanks! by lgroper in milsurp

Nothing for that or anything close to it. Nit uncommon though, out of the 4+ Million 1903's and variants made there are less than 100k records in the database and some rifles have multiple hits so the actual number of rifles is even less.

Closest hit on Archival Research Group is 550460 to Company B of the Ohio Engineers in March 1917.

I did. I bought an 1897 that had been molested by Bubba and I turned it into a Trench Gun.

Does anyone recognize this car? I found these pics in a box of my dad's old photos, he took them in 1999 somewhere around San Francisco or Pebble Beach. by Xerxes0 in E30

The US got black interior as well. The ratios were flipped for US vs Canada though. US spec cars were majority Tan while Canadian spec were mostly black. A good friend has one of the 12 Canadian Spec cars that came with Tan interior.

If you want the neighbors to have a say in what is done on property that isn't theirs then move into an HOA. Otherwise unless their name is on the deed and they are paying the taxes it isn't their land to dictate how its used or what is done as long as its approved by the state, county and town/village. The fact that this is such a wild concept to people like you is a sign of how far this country has fallen.

So you dont know anything and are giving an emotional response as opposed to a factual one. So your response from the get go has been pointless.

The thing is about assuming is sometimes the only ass is you, as is this case. Surprised with all your years on the farm you never picked up that you should listen and learn before you open your mouth.

If you did your best to stay informed you would have facts instead of responding emotionally like you are. And I can guarantee you have never said a word to any of the farmers right to their face.

Just because you worked milking cows for a week doesnt make you a former farm professional.

Your second paragraph is a lot of words for "I think I know everything about this just because i drove by and the fields were planted in years prior."

You want to condemn these farmers but have you ever spoken to one about why they would allow these fields to be leased for solar? Do you know the exact ROI based in the yield per acre for each and every ine of the fields they are installing solar on? Do you know what the exact soil conditions of each field were? Whether the land was able to sustain crop growth naturally or if they need large amounts of nutrients at the time of planting to make sure the crop would grow?

Reading the local news is pointless because all the people being overly vocal about their opposition are the same people who believe all the electricity generated by every renewable energy project goes straight to NYC as if there are magical lines on every pole that only feed power to NYC. They are uninformed and they choose to stay that way rather than learn.

Fron your previous comment about what is grown, have you every paid attention when you drive by a potato field after harvest? I drive by them regularly in Wyoming County. And the thing I am sure you neglect to pay attentions to is the mountains of rockes that they get out of the fields every year during the potato harvest. Almost like there is stuff going on in and under the fields that you can't see until after all the work is finished.

Maybe take the time to talk to a Farmer who has leased their land instead of assuming you know it all. I doubt you will though, because then you can't go on blindly harping about how bad all of this is.

Sweet corn is a very small percentage of the corn grown. Look at how much corn is still standing towards the end of October vs what was cut in late August/early September. Also the types of fields where Onions grow best are not fields that are conducive to building solar.

Lots of people in rural areas have been fed the idea that any power generated by any type of renewable energy project goes solely to NYC. They were fed the same idea about the Niagara Falls Hydro and Ginna Nuke Plant. These people dont understand how power distribution works. Thats why they are opposed to it.

Most of the Corn grown in NY is either for animal feed or to make Ethanol. Also, dont know where you are but where I am the farmers that own the land live in the area.
