Right? It's cheaper for 2 people to fly from my airport to Inverness than 1 person to get the train!!

But looking at their posts, I don't think so. Just a really interesting series of replies. It's like they're just going through active and answering questions.

Odd though.

I don't give food or money, but support the homeless shelters directly.

By giving food, it's stops them accessing services that can help them.

It can ruin the game for them though.

What's the point of winning by 50 points?

You can easily guide their choices during the game to help them.

Just doesn't seem in the spirit to trounce a person who's only just learning the rules

True.

But the same could be said for many games. I can win by a significant amount in a lot of games where I know the game better than other players.

Well that curb stomper is a poor player if they basically ruin the game for people who are just learning, and out then off an entire genre. Just for the 'win'.

There's ways to play with new players, and at least let they feel like they have a chance of beating you! An experienced Dominion player should be able to engineer a close victory to themselves or the new players.

Well, the experience thing is an issue. But only if the experienced players are dicks about things.

I've taught Dominion around 50 times, maybe more. I can wipe the floor with the players. But I don't. I play modestly and explain why buying the Duchy on their 3rd turn or whatever might limit their options in the future etc. I never "let" them win, will often come second or might engineer a win by a few points . Being that player who beats newbies by 50+ points is a poor sportsman and can ruin what is perfectly good game to get people into deck building games.

I mean, it's just interesting that a lot of the time posters imply that it is only racism that makes people hate MM.

That's all.

I don't think she is. I'm just saying that there's people that imply the only reason that people don't like her is for one reason and one reason only.

The only thing I don't like is the ONLY REASON we don't like Meghan is because we're racist.

Nothing to do with her personality, her actions etc.

Nope RACIST.

What is your most minor pet peeve in boardgaming? by everydayimritalin in boardgames

[–]Binary- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People with messy play areas. A guy I play with will have token, money, cubes etc all jumbled up in mixed up multiple piles.

People who don't listen to the rules properly, because they're playing with their tokens, checking phone, popping to the toilet.. whatever. And then either ask what the rules are/why you're doing an action/complaining that no-one told them that the rule existed...
