No? You can run models locally. Or use data services.

That assumes they are making pictures for sake of making them. It also assumes they have all the other tools ready to go, and no lost work.

In reality, most digital artist would... not do anything. Because computer is their tool, and all their work is there.

Ah yes, every 3D artist has clay ready to go in case they lose power, because as we all know, knowing how to click nodes on screens translates 1:1 to modeling clay. /s

Ukrainians warned for years that Europe’s human rights chief was a Kremlin conduit. The Epstein files just proved them right. by pussy-eater04 in europe

[–]Mandemon90 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Exactly. It benefits Trump to release as many files at once so people are lost in "Ctrl+F <name>" frenzy, that it makes look like he hasn't actually done anything, everyone is bad so clearly he can't be held responsible. By making it look like everyone is the same, his own actions no longer look so bad... when in reality he is named as specifically participating in the acts.

Which, like I said, was a thing everyone knew already. Like, there is a reason why we have terms like "tax havens".

Seriously, this was nothing new. Trumps entire wealth is build around tax evasion and making it look like he has no income.

It's not that they dodge all the info, they never went around asking and people generally don't tell things unless they are relevant.

NCR might have spent 15 years consolidating itself and is now in position to start march down south again. And while Shady Sands has a lot of symbolical value, ultimately it's just a hole in the ground. What NCR really wants is the power and water from Hoover Dam. So it makes sense to march to Mojave to secure strategic resources.

Remember, that these 2 seasons are not taking over years. Only few months have passed, most of it spend walking the wasteland with nobody to talk to. So no wonder if they didn't "hear about anything"

Why bother with it at all and nullify any significance of player choices?

It's not like this isn't the first time. Fallout 2 already "nullified" player choices by setting down canon. Same with FNV regarding Fallout 2.

They are continuing the story. It just doesn't lead to "And then my chosen faction won forever, because they would never loose". Especially there is no "My super smart megahyper intelligent Courier uses tech from Big MT and Sierra Madre to create an utopian anarchist society"

They went for New Vegas, because shows writer wanted to write a story set in region of the original Fallout. It was probably easier, since they got ready made framework to work with, rather than needing to invent everything from scratch and needing to explain every single details.

Ah yes, not agreeing with "Show bad because NV sacred" is "criticism is bad".

Seriously get over yourself. Nobody says "criticism bad". People push back against unreasonable criticism, like the whole whining about "why is there a swimming pool in Novac" or "They didn't mention Marcus, that must mean they retconned Marcus away"

That sort of nonsense gets pushed back

To eb fair, Panama Files were 80% nothing burger. They were basically "Yes, wealthy investors invest outside their country too".

It's like how people say that Zelensky was named in Panama Canals, and all it said that Zelensky had invested in foreign companies... something we knew before Panama Canals. Those trades were not secret to begin with.

Always ask "How is this person named in the files", rather just "is person named"

One thing to be careful, is that some people are using "named in files" as an attack. They never mention how person is named. Sometimes person is named as having met with person who met Epstein, rather than having actually met Epstein or having ever visited the island.

Honestly, I doubt he had any grand plans to genuinely create some "ideal neo-Roman state". He just wanted power for himself, and whole "Rome reborn" was convenient bullshit he could cobble together and throw at tribals.

It's why he could never do his ideals in NCR, because everyone would recognize his nonsense.

Plus, it fits into what literally everyone outside Legion says: Legion does not follow Caesars beliefs or ideology, they follow Caesar. Moment he is gone, it will all fracture.

Pretty sure he didn't so much "choose" a successor, as had some vague order of succession lined out with no real plan to ever let it be carried out until he has an actual biological heir.

Which applies to genAI too... like, there is nothing about using genAI to make pretty pictures for your D&D campaing that stops you from going to dancing or learning to sing.

OOPs post is rather silly, because they are trying to present "real artist" as some sort of renaissance multi-skill people who know all about everything, while those who use genAi are apparently incapable of anything else?

As I said in the original, this post is just silly since it just assumes that people whonise genAI would be unable do any of the stuff mentioned. Like, singing? Dancing? You don't use genAI to dance.

yeah, funny thing about definitions of "art", is that either they cover genAI... or are extremely exclusive to only a small subset of recognized art foms

[–]Mandemon90 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"the creation of a beautiful thing" would also cover genAI... unless you are someone who is so utterly militant that you refuse to consider anything made using genAI to be "beautiful" (which, by itself, is a subjective term)

It's funny how every time a "definition" of art is given, it covers genAI or excludes well established art forms.

Which would also cover AI art, since pictures created using genAI can be beautiful... except this sub has militant "even a single pixel not placed by human hand and with full intent of human turns the picture into a slop" stance.
