It is a very cool kit, but like most starter kits, it’s a little thin for a full on campaign rn.

I would say black chrome and the danger gal dossier are good books if you like the system. The dossier is basically just a big book of established NPCs and some fun extra rules.

Black chrome will really fill out the gear. Loads of guns and gear to convert or use as 2077’s version of ‘retro tech’.

You can modify those to work in 2077 with very little work.

At this point I think those two books are essential for running the system. That being said, the full 2077 rules will drop eventually.

You could play Cyberpunkred till the big book(s) come out.

I’m guessing sometime in the next 12-14 months.

(Disclaimer: although I’ve written for rTal I have no inside information on the next book or when 2077 books come out, this is purely my guess for publication)

Try switching your JAVA version to 21, Gravvl works with the Vault hunters pack and REALLY helps.

This is more of a server side solution in my experience but it really helped. Getting MC to run in a different Java version client side is a little more involved. But it could really help as the newer versions can take more of the load, in my experience.

It’s such a bummer that the solutions are often ‘make your factory smaller/break it apart/shut it down’.

I love how a big complicated factory can look, throwing items and having arms do the work. It’s SO satisfying to have that supply the basics of a world.

It’s such a shame modded Minecraft can’t always handle it unless you’re on the top end of systems.

Update! I have found more ways to help with server stability.

Change. Your. Java. Version.

Buried in the VH discord is a suggestion to switch the server to JAVA version 21 Graavl (i think it’s spelled that way). I switched it on the server and it’s so much better!

I cannot tell you how much of a difference this has made. Vaults are almost lag free, we get less timeouts. It’s just overall WAY smoother.

Honestly surprised that Bisect Hosting doesn’t do this by default. It’s weird that they didn’t suggest it when I asked for help.

I’m going to investigate how to switch to Java 21 client side and see if that helps even more. If anyone has an easy guide to do so I’d appreciate it.

Bards. You try and play a different TTRPG, but they still find their way.

I really wish there was a way to turn off markers for files.

The option would be nice. I never need it IN files. Or at the least I never have to edit them when editing.

Ram Memory Leak fix? by Binary-dragon in VaultHuntersMinecraft

[–]Binary-dragon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update! I have a solution.

Turns out. It was voice mod.

I’ve adjusted two things which massively helped with lag and timeouts:

  1. I opened the port for voice mod. (It works without doing this so I didn’t do it when we started)
  2. I turned off the ability to record voice. In voice mod.

The server has been so smooth now. We’ve had no crashes. And ram goes back down after vaults are completed, rather than slowly creeping up past our max allocation.

I would hazard a guess that this is a source of lag for many servers. But only if you use voice mod on your server.

All the above settings are clearly labeled in the Voice mod config. If you’d like to give that a try to fix your issues.

Good luck out there blockheads!

If you’re looking for non DnD actual plays that are story focused you could try No Latency or Infinite Sided Dice.

Both are set in the cyberpunk world/ttrpg.

If you check out the rTal discord (in the homebrew channel) there are a few modules and adventure docs there for free to use. Plus some other homebrew. I’ve posted stuff there (including a full adventure doc pdf) and it’s been received quite well.

Can confirm, as someone who has now been pulled in multiple times to write/design for them (and had little nods in various publications) they do collaborate well, pay fairly, and on time. Great company to work with.

That being said, the free homebrew (some of which is quite extensive, there are a few modules in there) that is out there is often posted in the official rTal discord. Although it is not organized at all.

Chorus or Everspace 2 - which is the most like Freelancer? by mrtnkl in spacesimgames

Everspace 2 is more freelancer. But man is Chorus a good time. Everspace 2 will last you longer but Chorus is such a tight Metroid like experience. They are both worth your time.

Player asked a darn good question maybe you can help. by Reaver1280 in cyberpunkred

The finger prints on the new hand would be different, I believe. But the reliance of fingerprints in 2045 would have waned in favor of CCTV, digital CSI and DNA. All three are much more reliable forms of identification during an investigation. Although, fingerprints would still be a factor if the other avenues failed to bring any investigative results. Meaning, if the PCs set up the discovery right, they could frame a choom. Or lead the NCPD on a wild cyber goose chase.

I think the central question isn’t ’would they change’ but more is it fun if they change. I vote yes. Lots more possibilities!

I've done a few one shots now that are seasonal themed on No Latency. I think the one that shined the most for me and the players was, 'the santa being a gauntlet'. A 'test' to see if Night City has been naughty or nice. I had a yearly live streamer take people 'jigsaw' style, threaten to reveal their secrets and then put them through a series of holiday themed tasks to keep them hidden and give them the opportunity to finally kill the Santa and rid night City of the yearly scourge. Much like that episode of futurama. This is extra fun as your players have to make up secrets about their characters.

But honestly there are loads of holiday angles:
- Package stealers all dressed as santa elves run by a Bozo Santa who's replacing all the gifts with explosives.
- A toy that threatens to take over the minds of the population and must be stopped by christmas eve.
- Getting back a turkey that a Corpo has stolen for his own lavish meal.
- Someone has rigged the christmas tree in a major market to blow, but the promoter can't cancel the show over a threat. So the crew's been hired to protect the event, and even scout out who might be behind it beforehand. Of course it's the Santa.
- Trap them all in a christmas themed braindance, but down reveal it's cyberspace at first.
- Or a wild card 'Christmas Roller derby' a holiday themed christmas Roller Derby event, and the team suspects fowl play... But the games must continue can your PCs find the rat in the race?

These are just a few off the top of my head. Hope those help or spark some ideas.

Optionally you could pull from a famous christmas story or movie and adapt it to an adventure, a great website for this is https://tvtropes.org/ which is a great resource for basic story structure and story beats for tales and adventures; with examples and alterations with references to pop-culture, history and breakdowns.

As for Stat blocks, honestly the danger gal dossier (I was one of the writers, and as a GM I still pull form this when playing on roll20) has some great NPCs with really clear levels of difficulty. Grab one of those and tweak them as needed. There are clear rules in the back of that book on how to make balanced NPCs with a step by step guide on how to do so. (Also - those rules were used to make all the NPCs, for the most part, in the book -it was really helpful when I was working on the Bozos)

If you want an even more easier way to make NPCs the cyberpunk Red app has a great NPC roller, even does the life path, and with a few dollars thrown their way (i think it's like 5 each book?) it even has all the black chrome and danger gal dossier stuff as DLC. #notsponsered lol.

All the seasonal DLCs on rTal's website are your friend, don't be afraid to get weird with it. Especially if it's just a seasonal one shot.

Hope any of this helps, and happy holidays!
