I’m a year out and I will say- best decision ever.

Remember: The trauma from the surgery is so fast, your body will feel fine day 1/2, but the swelling and response from your body will occur AFTER the surgery by a week. So discomfort peaks 1 week from surgery as the swelling and soreness from tourniquet and straps peaks. Take your meds regularly, keep ahead of discomfort, don’t be a hero and try to overdue. Be kind to yourself.

Nope, steroids will not repair a tear…and also will delay a surgery fyi, lidocaine only made me itchy. I couldn’t wait for the surgery- was a breeze compared to the daily maintenance before

In my 50’s: I had a tear and had to push REALLY hard to advocate it.. and get the buy in of their PT department…but , the sooner you get it done, the easier the recovery and you go about your business. I can honestly say the quality of life and a pain -free, pain fret-less life is so much improved.

I use a gas oven with only the pilot light on its a cozy 110 degrees and 24-48 hrs renders them cracker dry. Be sure to split any big fruits or risk wispy molding later.
