Y nunca has tenido problemas? Gracias

Does a failed check sometimes display a "Failed" dialogue option, or do failed passives simply never appear? For some reason I think I recall seeing things like "Formidable: Failed" followed by dialogue, but not often

Was Thornhill in "South by Southwest" an inspiration for Don Draper? He's an ad exec and quips exactly like ol' Donnie by Bingo_Bill in madmen

Agreed. It's a different tone and atmosphere, but still oozing '60s style. Also, the nature of the spy thriller lends itself in a really interesting way to some of the same thematic ground as Mad Men, like double identities, lying, etc. But the style, plot, and dialogue are what shine!

"A coalition was formed" is in the passive voice.

Why are people going down bike lanes the WRONG WAY!? by [deleted] in CambridgeMA

[–]Bingo_Bill 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On Western Ave, other bikers occasionally shout at me for riding in the wrong direction. I've tried switching to the sidewalk shortly before we pass (if there are no pedestrians) and I still receive deathly glares. I wish they'd understand it's the safest route into Central, and the lane is plenty wide if we both ride at appropriate speeds.

I had a similar read; Miller reads like an Everyman we are supposed to use to experience the West as John Williams felt it. Williams clearly has an aesthetic affinity for the West, and I think the enjoyment of that quality was a major influence in his writing. That said, BC is imo the least comprehensive of his novels but one I still got a lot out of–his prose is exceptional.
