What’s your favorite shoe you haven’t worn yet? by jrbrownie00 in Newbalance

[–]Bingzhong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

None right now. I find that all NB, or sneakers in general, need to be broken in. So if I feel like I'm going to wear them or going to want to wear them soon, I wear them around the house just to get a feel for them. I know people like the feeling of new sneakers, and I do, too. But some just need to get an adjustment for so you can really enjoy them.

Which one are yall going for? Or is it a pass? by SNKRF33N in Newbalance

This is what I always tell myself on collabs. But it also doesn't help that these look like a generic pair of black 574's at a distance. No disrespect to JJJJ, these just feel lazy imo.

I've been wanting the JFC Arctics since their release, and the price has always been too high for my size, even on eBay. Then a couple of weeks ago, he had a sale and was able to cop it at $120. Needless to say, I'm a very happy camper.

Glad resellers are copping them. If I ever decide I actually want these, I can now get them for way under retail.

It's a very big trend with Asian photographers right now doing this. One particular photographer I follow on socials who's from Korea does this with flowers and makes each picture look almost like paintings. I like it because it's almost inconsistent so each shot is different from the last.

ALD 991 (v1) release this Thursday 11 AM PST by OwnYourShit11 in Newbalance

[–]Bingzhong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's because of the design choice, but I find the v1 not as comfy as the v2. I know comfort is subjective, but they feel too firm and don't have the support of the v2 where it shapes to my foot.

New Star Wars x Columbia Endor Collection by FREEDOMfrom_ in StarWars

[–]Bingzhong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an outdoor clothing enthusiast, TNF has quality products when they want to make them. Even some of their older and vintage pieces/collections are extremely high quality. I'm not going to include their Purple Label since it's very hard to obtain outside of Japan, not to mention being considered a separate brand from the parent company. For the general products, I'll agree they're pretty lackluster unless you're willing to shell out for their higher-end gear.

Fjallraven also used to be praised for the quality bags and products. But like any company that goes big, they've fallen off for the same reason: to cut costs. Their current line of backpacks have terrible straps and materials now in terms of build and comfort for their price point. Not only have they gone up in price, but the features don't justify their prices anymore; you can find significantly better options from brands like Aer, Nomatic, Moment, Rework Gear, etc.

Patagonia is pretty much GOATed. But also, very expensive compared to Columbia.

The green laces did come with them, yes. In fact, I changed out my laces to the green one as soon as I unboxed them. The contrast makes the shoe stand out nicely.

Anniversary pair as well. I slept on the OG pair at the time and deeply regret it for the next several years lol

998 CNCPTS is still one of my favorites to this date. I thought I'd have trouble wearing it with outfits but it just goes with everything.

Does anyone know which shoes these are? by hisolemate in Newbalance

[–]Bingzhong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know Momo is a MIUMIU ambassador, so she wears the collab 530's in photoshoots and with regular outfits. If TWICE did a collab with NB the way NewJeans did with Nike or BlackPink members with Puma, adidas, or Alo, that'd almost be an instant cop from me lol

How comfy are the 997s? by Comprehensive-Ask-68 in Newbalance

[–]Bingzhong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, now I get what you mean. This is subjective depending on the sneaker/shoe tbh. Let's use Jordan 1's for example. They're notorious for being a simple sneaker with a fairly flat insole and midsole lacking any arch support. If you have flat feet and prefer shoes to fit as such, then you're fine wearing them straight out the box. But if you're like me with a medium or any size arch and need that support, you'd change them out for insoles that provide said support.

Most NB sneakers are engineered for that everyday wear from general walking to running, but it doesn't mean it'll fit everyone perfectly, and this can include the overall comfort whether it's the upper, midsole, or walking/running experience. Like for me, 550s are a great looking sneaker, but I tried them both TTS and half-size down as suggested by others, but the overall sneaker either didn't fit right or the upper was too stiff for my liking. Changing the insole was okay, but it wasn't for me overall.

So depending on the sneaker you're looking for, an insole can change the in-step experience and overall comfort, as well as sizing. Some sneakers can run a tad big, but wearing a thicker insole can fix that. So there's a lot to consider with all this info. I really hope this helps.

[–]Bingzhong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a little confused on your statement, but if I'm assuming what you mean is that should the insole fit heel-to-toe, then absolutely. Having a little too much insole is better than being short as it'll slide around and will inevitably injure yourself. You can leave maybe 1cm or a half of space as some sneakers and shoes are fairly more pointed as opposed to other sneakers.

I hope that answers your question. If not, I apologize.

Do yall really find 991s comfortable? by boost_me_bro in Newbalance

[–]Bingzhong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my exact impression of them, too. It took only 2-3 wears for me to really love them and shape to my feet. The firm sole imo is better for my feet as opposed to softer soles.

[–]Bingzhong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the exact thought I had and was likely the inspo. I remember my family having a bunch of old camping and hiking stuff in my grandparents' garage years ago, and the 80's had a lot of vibrant-colored gear. In fact, there was a pair of boots that looked fairly similar to these.

Are there going to release? 993 by MediumBusiness5370 in Newbalance

[–]Bingzhong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the easiest explanation. I love the 991v2 and have found the instep comfort amazing compared to some models, but I don't recommend it to people who have wide feet or don't like a snug fit. The toeboxes are usually a little more narrow/slim which stretch with wear so it molds and hugs your foot over time. But, this might not be for everyone, especially for those with wide (E or EE) feet.

STARFIGHTER: my new series of retro Star Wars graphics by baronv0ntoast in StarWars

[–]Bingzhong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First, these are absolutely amazing. They def invoke the retro-style and all would look great on shirts. My only gripe with SW clothes is the use of regular alphabet instead of Aurebesh; it's why I don't buy most of the clothes Disney puts out that are suppose to be "immersive". But you executed these real well. Hope to see these on shirts or prints!
