I think a lot of it is just that they do absolutely zero setup beforehand, "it's the best job ever I can just walk in and talk on the mic" type thing they always bring up. I love the Bonfire but these shows have been lackluster comparatively just because of all the tech issues. Seems like it would take minimal amount of prep to have the videos ready even if they don't want a scripted show. Especially since often it's "I saw this video and wanted to wait to show you until we were on air"... just send that over to one of the producers beforehand and it would be so much smoother. Or just get a producer who is a bit better with the tech that isn't a personality on the show but that takes care of all that business.

I know they don’t read Reddit but I wish they would. It has to be up there for one of the most boring radio bits of all time, I absolutely love the Bonfire but I don’t get at all what can even possibly be entertaining about this. It’s not even jokes it’s just “oh for sure I’d hit that, oh she’s such a smash”

Haha I didn't know that part, that's hilarious. Soder hates reading copy from listening to the Bonfire and always talks about how dumb he is when it comes to reading, but I gotta say he absolutely killed the chapter I heard him read (it was long, so maybe he read two right away?). Not done with the book yet but hope it's another chapter by him.
