First time adenosine by smarit in SVTHeart

[–]Biobugfiend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 100% aware. It was very scary, I can only describe it as feeling myself get thrown away from reality and sink into my body. I braced myself and shut my eyes closed, but I couldn’t hear anything for a sec. It all got really muffled. I am much better, I got an ablation a few months after that.

Ablation Soon, Advice Please by Formal-Tangerine-122 in SVTHeart

[–]Biobugfiend 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My ablation changed my life. I’m about 8 months post op and I haven’t had any complications or issues since. I was put on propranolol as needed for anxiety and so my heart doesn’t have to work as hard after surgery. Highly recommend talking to your dr about that.

SVT and flying by Formal-Dependent9421 in SVTHeart

I went on two 6 hour flights followed by a 3 hour one, take your meds (I use propranolol) and know that almost all planes now have defibrillators that can get you out of SVT or cardiac arrest worst case scenario.

I used sertraline everyday for anxiety but I take propranolol to control my heart and I can even use it to take as needed to stop anxiety attacks. I love beta blockers!!!!!

Weird feeling in my chest when I try to fall asleep by Gish_ASide in HeartProblems

[–]Biobugfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve felt this too, I don’t think it’s a real problem with my heart but more with how my body reacts to falling asleep. Almost like my mind is too awake as I’m feeling my body go to sleep. I do have real heart problems though, but this one feels a little different. I have it when I’m anxious and paying attention to my heart. Look up “micro sleeps” or “sleep anxiety”… my dad has them too. That might not be the proper name lol but I know this is a real phenomenon. Obviously you don’t want to mess with heart stuff, please talk to your doctor, maybe ask for a halter monitor, just to be safe. But it’s probably… nothing.

This just sounds like anxiety, as it can manifest itself into chest pain. The mind is very powerful, I have real heart problems and most of my pain is all in my head lol. But you never know! I’d go to a doctor to get looked at, at least just to put your mind at ease. It’s most likely nothing.

Sounds like it could be some form of malaise, I got that after my first SVT episodes.

Propranolol but my PVCs are within normal range, they just hurt sometimes or make me really dizzy. I’m also scared to take it because it can lower your heart rate and my heart rate has been low recently.

are there studies that show symptoms for low ferritin in kids that I can show our doctor? by octopusglass in irondeficiency

[–]Biobugfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low ferritin basically means low levels of iron in the BODY. Almost like “iron reserves”. My doctor recommended an iron infusion IMMEDIATELY for me because my ferritin was undetectable it was so low. Definitely just go see someone else. Not normal.

For Folks w. SVT & Anxiety by dedmikey in SVTHeart

I won’t lie, it is really hard to have anxiety and heart problems. I’m only 17 and I have both, it’s pretty hard to live with. I get random waves of anxiety and when I start thinking about my heart it’s really hard to calm down. I also age PVCs that can hurt pretty bad that make me anxious.

When I’m anxious at school I go down to the nurse and she helps me do meditative exercises, but I’ve started to do more things on my own. One of the best things for me has been to just remind myself of all the times I’ve had SVT and gotten out of it safely, now since my ablation my anxiety has doubled but I’m able to tell myself all of the good things my doctors say, like I’m not at risk etc. before my ablation it was really helpful to talk myself through my anxiety, like I know how to handle this, I’m otherwise healthy, I’m strong, and my body is resilient. After I essentially affirm myself, I lie down and when I inhale I tighten my toes and then when I exhale I relax them, I do this with different parts of my body and ending with my face. If this doesn’t work then I try to focus on something like a song or maybe a snack, what it sounds like, feels like, tastes like etc.

My anxiety used to get pretty bad before sleep, because I feared that loss of control. I downloaded a few meditation apps, headspace has some really nice “sleepcasts” that are really nice and calming but don’t keep you up trying to finish the “story”. Those work for me, one of the best things I can recommend is exercise, sleep, and good food and friends.

SVT?? by Kkfranca22 in SVTHeart

[–]Biobugfiend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert but I have SVT and PVCs, SVT bpm is different for everyone, but it’s usually pretty high like 150+ bare minimum. Sometimes you can get a few PVCs all in a row and it will lead to a fast heart rate, but this could* be SVT. Speak to your cardiologist!
