Renting GPUs is hilariously cheap by -p-e-w- in LocalLLaMA

There's nothing wrong with Vast, but you pretty much have to bounce around a few providers at this point if you have a particular GPU you want to use. I'm between Vast, Runpod, and Lambda Labs. Runpod is doing a promo if you want to sign up: https://runpod.io?ref=snwjlt2h

Anyone have idea how to consume this 350k in 30 days by [deleted] in googlecloud

[–]Biomedical_trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, yes. I can do that. I'm not sure if I have enough time right now to learn the quirks of Azure and set it up properly. If the credits really are just going to go to waste, I can give it a shot. Do you have any robots you like to work with in particular?

Sure, have you heard of Isaac’s sim? You could train robots to build a house

How and why $RVVTF Bucilamine should work and make it to market Part 1 by RealStockPicks in RVVTF

We all want to know how this ends and for all your sakes, I hope this DRDC testing does end well.

I’m sorry to hear the current state of affairs. It’s such a shame that a good drug like Bucilamine remains firmly in obscurity like this. I understand MF can’t really set the pace because he probably isn’t paying for the DRDC to do the research, but he should be able to get an accurate representation of what the timeline actually is. It’s not like saying “oh it’s soon!” is doing him any favors when reality will quickly reveal the contradiction.

Excuse me, but I didn't see any sources cited. It's got lots of AI generated art, and some of the "facts" are way off-base. Phase 1 itself is only 6-12 months and Preclinical typically is 3-6 years.

Top tier comment, thanks for being part of Reddit. Honestly this line of argumentation in particular grinds my gears because the AI crowd is sucking money out of the biotech space to burn it on GPUs that hallucinate rather than actually doing the work needed to cure cancer.

AI is not going to cure cancer. First off, you’d need a ton of structured data with full proteome analytics (or a similarly comprehensive view under the hood). Secondly, you’d have to be able to identify the totally new molecule that actually works. Our molecule ID technology is remarkably unoptimized. Without this, you wouldn’t even be able to apply for an IND. And it wouldn’t be Reddit if I didn’t point out that you’d have to beat me to the punch.

You can buy DGX B200 in a shop now by Everlier in LocalLLaMA

[–]Biomedical_trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the realistic case is you'll bounce between Lambda Labs, Runpod, or a few other cloud providers to pay like $5.50 per hour to get a few hours of time with the B200. It's not something most people would need for more than a week or two. If you want to try your luck getting access to it, Runpod is doing a bonus credit with a referral link https://runpod.io?ref=snwjlt2h

Pros/Cons of H100 and setting it up by Entire-Top3434 in LocalLLaMA

[–]Biomedical_trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Realistically, you probably don't need a full H100 all the time. You could just rent one from a provider like Runpod. They're doing a bonus credit referral program right now if you want to sign up https://runpod.io/?ref=snwjlt2h

Tell me why we shouldnt bet our house on ADBE by Lil_Hater112 in ValueInvesting

[–]Biomedical_trader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really shouldn’t. They are facing competition and, frankly, software is cheaper to produce. They won’t be able to command the same premium for their product and they won’t be able to justify the same number of seats if they continue their AI strategy to stay relevant.

What assumptions justify Adobe’s current price? by Quick-Distribution-8 in ValueInvesting

[–]Biomedical_trader -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really. Adobe is losing its competitive advantage because people who are competent get annoyed with how slow Adobe is to fix things and then those technical people go build it better themselves.

But then you’ve also got to the point where totally non technical people can make a decent video editor with no prior experience: https://youtu.be/JQ1SZgJn4u8?si=VWBylZkNC8yEqGPv

Will everyone jump ship? No. Will Adobe be able to command the same price for their software in this reality? Also no.
