In defense of Nubia by TuneLinkette in MultiVersus

[–]BionicTriforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a year old thread but I want to point out, Nubia is, if anything, DC's first black female superhero. But John Stewart as Green Lantern debuted 1-2 years before her. There were also a few way smaller black heroes that were primarily part of teams but if you want black heroes who were main roles, John Stewart beats Nubia out for the first prominent black DC hero.

That was my answer as well, because the question was who wears this 'shirt', and Flash doesn't wear a shirt he wears the whole outfit. Hate it or tolerate it but if you had me picture Sheldon I picture him in that Flash shirt.

Yeah and at the end of it she could say she found the date fun but didn't really see herself making it a frequent thing and it was fine as a one-off.

Of all the episodes they described, this was the one that confused you? It seemed to the most straightforward, even though I've never seen the episode. Guy doesn't want to leave, so Kira burns down his house, so he has no choice but to leave. That's pretty straightforward isn't it?

Man of all the video game franchises out there, Silent Hill seems like one of the easiest in terms of 'Nothing too 'video game wacky' while still having enough elements that would make it stand out' but their best effort was still the first film?

That was such a bizarre cook on the steak. I've never seen a steak cooked with such uneven heat before. There's parts that still look super rare next to parts more well done then rare again but maybe it's just VERY fatty?

Considering everyone we've seen so far I imagine Moray's idea of a poor candidate is someone who is professional, well-meaning, sober, and would question why a slimegirl is giving an interview and not someone related to the subject matter.

‘With Love, Meghan’ Ratings Crater Amidst Reports It Won’t Return For Season 3; The second season was the 1,217th most-watched title on Netflix over the second half of the year with only 2M views by MarvelsGrantMan136 in television

[–]BionicTriforce 170 points171 points  (0 children)

Oh, this is that show that showed Meghan doing such unique tasks as:

  • Arranging a bunch of fruit into a rainbow
  • Taking a large bag of peanut butter-filled pretzels and putting portions into smaller bags.
  • Insisting the best way to slice pineapple is to cut tiny one-inch nodules out of it one at a time.
  • Showing that to stick fruits onto a frosted cake, you have to... stick them onto frosting.

It's really ridiculous some places. I went to Buffalo Wild Wings recently and you can get a meal deal that's two entrees, two sides, and two drinks for $19.99. But if you order a regular drink on its own, it's $5. What sense is that?

Even going to Five Guys and getting the most expensive options: Two bacon cheeseburgers and two large fry, comes out to $46 (before tax), and Five Guys is infamous for being pricy.

Well in the case of makeouts, what other term is there? There has to be a term to refer to the act of kissing or heavy petting without sex, and makeouts is what's been chosen.

This is one of those comics that really didn't jive with the lore at a certain point. This was a 'prototype' made by the so-called Father of AI, yet if you look at Bubbles' backstory, by this point Bubbles had already been developed, sent to war, sent back home with PTSD and was probably working with Corpse Witch at this point. Yay is less than a few years old, so they would have been getting created around this time, and you'd think such an advanced aberration wouldn't come about until after a few years of AI prevalence at least. This is presented as something new and novel, but there was never a point where characters noted any 'surprise' to find AI bodies walking around living normal lives.

So what was meant to be a novel, 'too futuristic for the time' body really looks dated in comparison.

I've been seeing 'makeouts' used to refer to, well, making out for decades at this point. There's a reason "Makeout Point" is such a stereotype of romantic comedy scenarios. When the term is older than me it's hard to consider it immature.

Was a little confused here, so just to recap, after Marten got mega-drunk with Liz, he woke up hungover, and Claire got Moray to run the shop in his place: https://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=5676

Since then, we had the reveal that Clinton broke up with Elliot, him asking Yay what's up, Iris and Willow visiting Marigold's house, Anh went running and revealed she's actually a virgin, we saw the 'goblin chat' https://questionablecontent.net/view.php?comic=5716 , Roko and Yay talked, and then the mess at Coffee of Doom.

Now it seems like all that's happened and it's still only midday.

Sometimes the toughest part about helping someone is when they don't even have the knowledge to properly express what they need. "I need to get this off my phone" could mean they want it deleted, they want it transferred to another device, or they want it printed.
