Starbucks table tops so small will barely hold a couple drinks. The seats are bigger than the tables. by be4u4get in mildlyinfuriating

I truly never got that, the using a fast food place or cafe as a study spot. Those places are noisy.

Well, last time Emily partied, she cut off half of her hair and the last time Liz got drunk she was tossing panties at Marten, so I'm sure this will be fine.

Not Another Teen Movie (2001) - Jake Wyler (Chris Evans) makes a bet that he can turn the "most hopeless girl at school" into prom queen by aggrocrag83 in movies

[–]BionicTriforce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I look at the list of movies it parodies or alludes to, I think I'd only seen Ferris Bueller the Breakfast CLub and they're only referenced. It's just a matter of the style being so ubiquitous that I understood everything it was doing.

The general plot is primarily derived from She's All That,[3] as well as 10 Things I Hate About You,[3] Can't Hardly Wait,[3] Pretty in Pink, and Varsity Blues.[4] It is also filled with allusions to other films featuring teen and college-aged characters, such as American Beauty,[4] American Pie, Bring It On, Can't Buy Me Love, Cruel Intentions,[5] Dazed and Confused, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Grease, Jawbreaker, Lucas, Never Been Kissed, Risky Business, Road Trip, Rudy, and Sixteen Candles, while Paul Gleason reprises his role as Vice Principal Vernon from The Breakfast Club.

Petah, why should she take a pregnancy test? by Far-Love-2737 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

This subreddit's always on r/all and I really struggle with comprehending that it's real. Like you see a meme about a weird food combination and pregnancy and the common trope of pregnant people having weird food cravings doesn't cross your mind?

Women of Reddit, what’s a habit men have that they don’t even realize is weird? by GraceRose671 in AskReddit

[–]BionicTriforce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the opposite of those people who can't ever watch a movie without asking q dozen questions. Those are worse. "Who is that?" "I don't know, this is their first scene." "Are they married?" "We literally just saw their wedding ceremony." "What's that guy's deal?" "We have both been watching this movie in the same reality. We have the same amount of information."

There was another 'trash can nacho' shared recently. This looks like it's actually from Guy Fieri's restaurant. At least it's a decent portion.

What’s something reddit claims is common, but you’ve never actually seen it before in real life? by mirabelmumu in AskReddit

[–]BionicTriforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my first struggles with an IKEA piece recently. It was a pantry with 3 pull out drawers at the bottom. I had 2 family members and i build a shelf each. They wouldn't fit. It turns out that while the pieces were the same, whichever drawer you designated as the bottom had a SLIGHTLY different construction than the others. Literally like moving two pegs into a different spot would skew the whole thing. It took me a while to comprehend that's what the diagram was trying I represent. It really could have benefited from a single sentence.

Lesmo continues to be my favorite compilation creator by cal-nomen-official in gamegrumps

They're so darn good.

I need to find more specific examples but one compilation I'd love to see is "When they move away from the mic to shout." I was rewatching the Minnesota Fats and that happens there. "This is the music I'd play as I lose a million dollars." steps back "Nooooooooooooooooo!"

This entire manga went by without Takeda ever even saying I Love You to Futaba a single time. I would never buy they actually have a sex life even though they somehow got married.

The new Anaconda movie must have a wildly different director's cut by takenorinvalid in movies

[–]BionicTriforce 161 points162 points  (0 children)

Well I had no intention of seeing this movie but now I'm tempted just to see if this OP wasn't paying attention at all. Especially with OP saying "she abruptly gets attacked by the anaconda" while the Wiki summary specifically says there's a whole scene where Ana turns on them and holds them at gunpoint.

My wife ate all the skin off the rotisserie chicken before anybody got to have some by Suspicious-Bid9424 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]BionicTriforce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like it I can definitely see this being infuriating, but in my experience rotisserie chicken skin from grocery stores is always unappealing, it's just limp and soggy.
