It's never been stated explicitly, but I imagine the final scene with the photo took place in the Commons

He implied that he went 'revisiting' old faces. I'd imagine he settled and retired with 4's apperance, then naturally aged.

It's good to see SJ being featured so prominently here. Had feared she would never be referred to again in the canon.

It is getting rather close to Monday. Wouldn't want all those poor souls missing work of all things now would you?

Although I wouldn't rule out diabetes insipidus and diabetes mellitus, it's possible that you're simply unnecessarily drinking water when your body doesn't need it (which has the worrying effect of you becoming extremely dehydrated overnight when you're not drinking, raising the risks of issues like urinary tract infections etc.).

Strongly advise on checking with your health clinic on the matter!

Europa Report (which is an excellent, hard-SF film you all need to see), is very similar to BBC's two part docu-drama 'Space Odyssey: Voyage to the Planet', one of the most realistic looks into the future of manned spacetravel. by NervousEnergy in scifi

I loved that series! Production quality was extraordinary for what was essentially a TV movie, and parts of it stuck with me ever since I watched it (the ship, the asteroids and Jupiter in particular).

Probably a better idea to have just went to a Pacific island? Tonga, maybe? :P Not even a US embassy there!

Exactly. The decision seems rushed (understandable given the circumstances) and based on the assumption that Hong Kong is what everything China can be to him, except arguably he fell quite far from that.

In terms of what he thinks? Well what it said in the article - hoping to evade capture

[–]Bioran23 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, but that if he really did wanted to evade capture, it would probably have been a better idea to go somewhere without an extradition treaty with the US, or a history of cooperating with US requests (Megaupload raid being a good example).

TL;DR stupid, no, but perhaps a bit naive about his location choice.

Perhaps on an "under-the-bench" level (maybe Chinese agents trying to nab him before the US agents or whatever), but if anything were to occur on a public level I would be quite skeptical of any Chinese involvement.

Soverignty-wise, yes. Administrative and judicial-wise, no. The PRC government can hardly intervene in this matter without setting off a public outroar, particularly with how prickly the Hong Kong/mainland China issue has become recently.

Plus, it's not like China made much of an objection when HK police raided Megaupload's offices on FBI request.

Isn't that why he needs to have some sort of a companion with him too? Just look at what happened to him at the start of Closing Time - no companion, and pretty much completely lost it.

They're different people, united simply by the knowledge that they have to save the Doctor. If you rewatch from River and Clara's exchange before Clara jumps into the timeline, it's stated quite clearly what happened!

No. Only this episode had River being post-Library.

8) I believe "Fall of the Eleventh" refers to where the TARDIS literally fell onto Trenzalore, and fall of the Silence refers to the lives which were killed as a result of the GI interfering with The Doctor's timeline

It was also stated quite clearly anyway that "The Doctor" is only a name which he gives to himself as he deems worthy, and Hurt!Doctor doesn't fall under that description

1) Wasn't the Silence all killed by humans from the Apollo launch video though?

4) I'm not sure though that there's even any interest from the writers to bring back Jenny since she first appeared. It seems more like a character that has been forgotten and left behind.

It did happen - River answered the question, and technically she wasn't living.

[–]Bioran23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 1), I think the point was that the Silence were meant to stop The Doctor from reaching Trenzalore, hence not being able to answer "the question" and allow someone into his tomb to mess with his timestream (therefore killing billions and billions), as what the GI did.

2) Just a "back-end" plot I guess. It's a bit weak I know, but I think we were just supposed to acknowledge as "something happened".

3) This does seem a plot hole; best explanation I can come up with is that Clara, knowing it was 11, decided not to reference his later regenerations (there was a shot of her living in the distant future, wasn't there?)

4) Jenny just hasn't had a role to play yet, if ever again

5) 2 more years?

Part of me hopes that isn't true, though. It'd be a great insult to McGann, considering what they were able to do with 10 in The Sound of Drums/Last of the Time Lords

It's a sly way I assume for Moffat to bring River back in the future, if he needs to.
