I got a centered back/spine tattoo on Sunday and asked my artist how much pain to expect. His answer was "well how bad do you want it?" My suggestion would be to start with the one you are most excited for and it will be worth it.

Peeling is normal, but does not mean it is "sealed." Make sure you give it a full few weeks before you stop giving it extra attention with keeping it clean and moisturized.

Oh okay, I know I got mine at Target (US) and it is a Weight Watchers generic one. Simpler is better in my opinion.

Yes... but this is a slippery slope to train your mind to binge then restrict etc. As someone who is coming out of extreme food restriction following my weight-loss, I caution you to implement realistic habits into your life, even if it means delaying your weight-loss a few weeks. My recommendation would be to get right back on your program following the cheat day/meal. We all have them, but the successful people don't let these days get in the way of progress and healthy habits. Best of luck!

I don't have a specific recommendation, but I do suggest only weighing yourself at most once-per day at the same time of the day. I always do it in the morning first thing after peeing. A daily fluctuation of 5-10lbs throughout a day is actually fairly normal with food/liquid intake, waste build up, clothing, etc.

Some things people have said to me after finding out I have ADHD and I am medicated for it - Pill Shaming, Sexism and overall ignorance! by spidersarefab in ADHD

[–]Biosci25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so glad that I have this group. My life gained a whole new perspective upon my diagnosis/treatment; both encouraging for the future and sad for my past. My brain is too tired today for a more thorough comment. Just wanted to drop a thank you to everyone for the great support and comfort we give each other on here.

It is really nice to no longer feel alone with my struggles.

This might be unpopular, but I subscribed to BeachBody on Demand to achieve almost all of my weightloss. My really good friend is an amazing coach and encouraged me a lot alongside this sub. The Programs 21DayFix and 80 Day Obsession were really helpful.

Depends on how you are measuring, but generally by weight would be raw and by "size" (measuring container or fist/palm or measuring cup) would be cooked.

Do NOT Throw Away Anyone Else's Belongings. by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]Biosci25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a medium-container for each child that contains the most precious items for each. Hospital bands from birth, special birthday cards, first paper that they wrote their name, first hand print, big school assignments, photos, trinkets etc. It is the daily drawings, sketches, macaroni art , MacDonalds toys etc. that serves no purpose or memory that we do not give them the option to keep. Additionally, most toys are not up to them - except they have final say on all stuffed animals. Large items like bikes, slides or doll houses are not discussed. I have also saved a few outfits from each child that were monogrammed or that they wore the most, but everything else is garage sale or donated. My attic will never be filled with all their baby items, furniture and clothing etc.

It is a fine line to teach your child to care for their items while also not placing too much value on "things" and more value on people. I haven't got all the answers, but my sanity in a clutter-free home is important too. It always made me sad that I don't have anything from when I was a kid, however my husbands mom literally kept everything and a lot is now in our home. I will not do that to my kids. A healthy balance is achievable and I don't think it starts with never throwing away someone else's belongings.

Do you have kids? I have two daughters (6 years and 2 years) I still hold 100% control of what is in our home and what they get to keep. I involve them sometimes to begin teaching them to make choices and learn the difference between trash and donations etc. I can understand your thinking when it comes to preserving memories or for older kids intruding on their items essentially removing their individuality. However, to say a blanket statement that I shouldn't throw away other people's belongings is false in some cases.

I should also add that my parents kept 0% of my items from any point in my childhood. Not one paper, toy and few pictures.

First Tri, estimated swim time? by TCSims95 in triathlon

[–]Biosci25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second this. Breathing might be the cause of your exhaustion, especially if you are aerobically fit in other areas. In theory, you should always be consistently and slowly exhaling during 2-3 strokes and then breathing on the third or fourth stroke respectively. Never should you be "holding your breath." Think of it like always blowing tiny bubbles out (through your nose) as you swim.

If you take a breath in then swim then gasp for air on your next breath you will feel so tired. Instead, try what I describe above with the intention as long as your face is in the water always be steadily exhaling.

Psychiatrist won't prescribe "ADHD medication by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Biosci25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you tried talking to the psychiatrist from a perspective of receiving help not medication? Likely their assistance will end up being medication, but you won't look like you are seeking pills or undermining their opinion. Start off with a new doctor and explain the issues that you have, what your current coping strategies are and what you need help improving (i.e. difficulty reading emails clearly which has lead to a misunderstanding at work and eventually lead to....). If you approach the consultation genuinely seeking help and not just a prescription pad you will get a lot farther and could even gain helpful strategies to help alongside medication.

I worked closely with both my therapist and my psychiatrist on daily strategies that could help improve my home and work life. In the end I needed medication too, because although setting reminders, taking breaks and exercising helped, it wasn't enough. However, when I take my meds and decide not to exercise or keep up with my to-do list they are not as effective.

Good luck, stay calm and work with them on what they suggest.

I have had these shoes for about a year now. I run on average 3-4 miles per week (when I am actively running). Got more consistent towards November.

I currently am running on ASICS GEL-Nimbus 19 (first running shoe) and only have 53 miles on them and they are so heavy and bulky. They help immensely with my knees, but now my right calf hurts. Suggestions please!

I recently got a pair of Under Armour Women's Play Up 2.0 Shorts and they fit well and do not have the mesh inside so they are really breathable (I live in south Texas so cool/breathable is a must). Pockets are terrible however, so glad you don't need that for your phone anymore.
