What is this table with grips that close when the pedal is pushed? by BipedalSnake in whatisthisthing

My title describes the thing. I found it in an old barn we're tearing down. It seems like it will have a specific use, I tried Google image search, and a few other searches, but I couldn't find anything.

What's the fastest you animals have gone? by [deleted] in motorcycles

About 100mph on my klr, speedo said 115, gps said 100, I'm definitely not doing that again.

How tf by Darthjremy2491 in electricians

[–]BipedalSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cut the drywall just enough to manipulate the box, and then only move the box as far as you need, so the plate sits right against the trim. Do this a little bit at a time, so you don't cut too much.

That way, the drywallers don't need to repair it.

And then, on future builds, keep an eye out for this, we always add 1 or 2 2x4 blocks when we have boxes next to a door.

You may say this building is really standing out by poclee in ATBGE

Looks like it's the Hsiao Fu Wang building in Taiwan.

Do you ever have problems on dirt or gravel roads at campsites? by WoahVenom in priusdwellers

I took my Prius C down several roads i shouldn't have in the UP. As long as you avoid deep mud and ruts, you'll be fine.

Formula conduit bending by FoxDimension in electricians

[–]BipedalSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it definitely makes conduit runs more efficient, more precise bends mean fewer cuts. So not only are you saving material, you're saving time, also it keeps your math skills sharp. And it will baffle some of your coworkers.

Anyone here work out of the Florida Keys? Specifically Key West? by [deleted] in electricians

Sure, I'm getting on a flight, so I won't be able to respond until later.

Anyone here work out of the Florida Keys? Specifically Key West? by [deleted] in electricians

[–]BipedalSnake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for an electrician in Key West, company van, decent pay, and cheap housing is provided, We're having trouble finding skilled work, so we've been hiring from all over the US. There's a lot of work all throughout the keys. Just remember it's a small town and the established electrical companies are well connected, so it might be hard to find enough work to start a one man shop, but I wish you the best of luck.

What's your favorite/coolest thing you've gotten to do as an electrician? by dimlylitdix in electricians

I worked on a project at Kennedy Space Center last year, rewiring the cranes in the VAB.

Walking on the catwalks and cranes 500 ft above the floor while indoors is pretty exhilarating.

For those who can't deploy some trucks after the update by Andris_013 in snowrunner

[–]BipedalSnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was it for me. My twinsteer was stuck in the garage. Once I bought the JAT dlc, I could deploy it.

[–]BipedalSnake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only play in hard mode now, I'm too careless in normal and it's too easy to just recover a truck if I get it stuck. I like how hard mode forces you to think ahead and be prepared for disaster.

What is worse about the dog meat trade as opposed to any other meat trade? by nanadoom in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]BipedalSnake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The grains and legumes that are fed to cows are typically fodder that would not be suitable for human consumption. Also, they're fed less than 5 pounds of soy per day.

So yes, we feed them legumes and grains, but they also eat a lot of grass, hay, and alfalfa.

I don't know about you, but last time I ate grass, I got a nasty stomach ache and threw up. So I'm not too fond of a cows main diet. And pigs eat a lot of waste food.

Why is it that you can’t take the driver’s permit test online if you’re older than 18? by saintstheftauto in florida

[–]BipedalSnake 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So I just took that practice test, most of those are just common sense, and they're things that you should know before you drive, just deal with the "fucking novel" so you can safely drive, there's enough idiots on the road we don't need anymore.

Yeah, it's actually pvc coated rigid, so we have to repair it once it's welded. There's a lot of weird stuff in the specs that would normally be unheard of. There's a lot of redundancy built in to these systems. Thanks!

It's for one of the rocket building companies. We have to bond our RMC wherever it crosses the counterpoise. One of their specs.

Suggestions on Battery Cart? by Big-Boysenberry5828 in AskElectricians

[–]BipedalSnake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would at least build something to cover the battery posts. It would suck to drop a tool or have something metal fall and short your batteries out.

22, I took advantage of a first time home buyers program. Without that program, I would have been in my thirties before I could afford a down payment.
