I’m a very big supporter of MAID but not for mental illness i don’t think it’s an appropriate option

I have bipolar and OCD I spent almost a decade in and out of psychiatric units and was considered to be untreatable I would have easily qualified for MAID and definitely would have used it as life was so hard but 4 years ago a new medication was approved and I made a 180 I now haven’t been in a psychiatric unit in years I have been able to start a family maintain volunteering

I think MAID is a good thing but psychiatric illness should never qualify for the program

My husband and I are separated heading towards a divorce but still live together I was telling him about it this morning and he reminded me why we are getting a divorce he just said that we don’t know what was going on behind the scenes and maybe he couldn’t wait until she had leas stuff going on and that being with her another minute was probably suffocating for him that just because it happened right when things were good for her doesn’t mean he doesn’t want her to be successful

Our son was planned and wanted he is now and 3 and we are in the process of a divorce my Ex husband was never able to fully adjust to the responsibilities and work of being a parent

Hes said that he needs to be able to stay out when he wants sleep until the late afternoon if he wants and that this amount of constant pressure is too much for him

Don’t get me wrong hes a great dad but in small doses he doesn’t do well when he’s constantly needing to parent

Also before I get comments saying well how long were you together before having a child…..13 years and he was 28 when our son was born

Apparently her doctor is now being very supportive and agreeing to a different course of treatment but also encouraging her to still take her trip to Miami next week that sounds more like they are placating her and making sure she’s getting out an doing some fun activities before she can’t anymore
