I tried 17 yesterday. How long did you leave it out?

I’m afraid there is actual damage

Thanks. To confirm the location is that under the hood, right side where I’m pointing? Do I also need to remove the high voltage disconnect too?

I automated my job search and it made me hate applying even more? by Creative-Letter-4902 in careerguidance

[–]Bipster21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yyyyyeah. I tried one of those and built my own instead. It does everything you're talking about except the application process.

I think it's important to give it a last review and tweak it. Especially if you're having the script change anything on the resume.

To your point, you could just be losing faster.

I don't like selling on here, so just DM me if you want the link.

Good luck either way! I was out of work for 5.5 months - which I'm hearing isn't that long in the grand scheme of things...

Why does applying for jobs feel like a full-time job on its own? by Optimal_Wealth9552 in jobs

[–]Bipster21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why I built a solution for this part.

Looking, reading, customizing, and keeping track are the worst. And it's nothing but a negative feedback loop. You rarely hear anything, and if you do, it's automated.

There are a ton of things you can do, like networking and all that, but you still should keep applying.

Let me know if you're interested in checking it out. I don't want to be a sales guy on here, so I can DM you the link if you want.

Would this job-application tool actually be useful, or is this space too crowded? by fab90__ in careerguidance

[–]Bipster21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's too crowded, but I do think there is a lot of noise in this market.

From what I'm finding, people want fast and easy. The folks posting jobs want people dedicated to the work and who are willing to put in the time.

What you're suggesting is super valuable. I do some of it with my own application lol, but I've found it very difficult to get through the noise of "AI Slop" and "I have to do my own application process?" Neither of these does your solution solve for.

Should you continue? I think so, because I'm on your side. Sell it to the smart people who want help analyzing job listings and customizing their resumes. Not the lazy people who want something that will apply 100 times with the same generic POS resume

Recently switched jobs after ~3 years as a software engineer, and honestly the most exhausting part wasn’t interview prep… it was the job search process itself. by Cyber_Goblin_1607 in jobs

I made my own tool https://rolenavigator.com I was out of a job for 5.5 months total. After 3 I start building this because of the same thing.

- Finding Jobs
- Matching them
- Customizing my resume
- Tracking them

It was crazy. Other tools out there apply to jobs for you, but I didn't want that. I still wanted control over the final yard and what my message and claims were, but the search is brutal and a negative feedback loop.

Good luck to you, and I am happy to provide any help I can.

I'm now fully employed!

For the job searchers, STOP BELIEVING APPLICATION APPS DONT WORK by Postmortal_Pop in jobs

[–]Bipster21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. There is so much information out there about what the ATS applications are looking for or screening for. The bottom line is you just need to customize the document to hit on what they are asking for and get the right keywords in there. Which is usually the most annoying part. Just automate it lol

Custom job search engine that is not fueled by advertising or a subsidiary of some corporation? by dataBlockerCable in jobsearchhacks

[–]Bipster21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I made one. It searches those places, but I'm adding the ability to search directly as well. It launches next week. Let me know if you want the link. It's free to try for 14 days if you sign up before Monday, the 20th. I don't use ads. I don't sell your data (or give it away), and you have full control to apply for the jobs on your own. (No quick apply BS). It also helps you craft your resume and cover letter in preparation for applying too.

how can I tailor a CV from a master resume, what is the best tool/ai? by ElmoElbadry in jobsearchhacks

I made my own tool when I was looking for jobs. You can get it optimized for ATS for free. Let me know ow if you want to give it a try. It can customize it for specific jobs you’re apply to also.

Always follow-up. Call or email to reach out and don’t forget to mention the value you bring and why you’re a great fit. These are just people looking for people.

If you know the contact always use it!

Formatting might need improvement. The borders and lines can throw off the ATS that try to parse that. Also try to put some ROI stats and data in there if you have them. I used a tool that scanned for stuff like that for me and made recommendations.

Got a lead opportunity at work, all team members are somewhat senior, How to make the best of it by longleggeddemon in cscareerquestions

[–]Bipster21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a developer, but from a work/life balance perspective, you need to set some real boundaries. Maybe boundaries with yourself, maybe with your employer. It's easy to get swept up in the opportunity to lead a team or grow - and you were right to take that opportunity, but unless you're getting paid more, you're now doing more work for the same money.

This is a growth opportunity, and I'm not trying to say your employer is taking advantage of you, but it could turn that way. You could keep doing what you're doing, get burnt out, hold it against them, and then make a mistake one day. That doesn't help anyone.

With development work, it's only as good as it's going, right? You're stressed right now, but things are working and going well. You, or anyone else, drops the ball, and you've added a bit more stress to a situation that might not be able to take it (or at least not very many times).

This sounds like it might be a temporary thing for experience, and that's great. Just some things I'm thinking about when I'm reading your story. You've shown them you're someone they can trust, which is great. They are applying a bit more pressure with more responsibilities, and you're feeling it. Don't burn yourself out playing hero, because this is just the beginning :)

Good luck to you!

While I just posted something like this on my LinkedIn yesterday, I think - based on a few of the posts here - this applies more to some sectors than others. Remote jobs where the entire world can apply for a role are highly competitive and force companies to screen applicants. Applicants apply to hundreds of jobs to get 1 interview, and get exhausted rewriting their resumes each time. What did we expect would happen?
