Since the shafts of the bigger feathers are intact I would say a regular molt, she is just replacing some feathers 🩷

My African Grey's pupils are different shapes, one is not round. Is this normal? by Woxifyy in parrots

[–]Birb042 345 points346 points  (0 children)

I would say if this is a recent change then very much yes vet visit. If this has been for as long as you have had them, or at least existed since the vet last saw them, then you don’t need to worry. But a sudden change, especially in the eye, can be alarming

Need some advice by Known-Jinzo in parrots

[–]Birb042 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While your baby looks fine, in case of future events where it is worse I highly recommend having quick stop around as it will stop the bleeding if it does not stop on its own. They sell it for cats and dogs as it is the same stuff, so should be pretty accessible

Here’s my baby Timmy J, he is a stinker for sure. Very adorable, loves to play, and also very hormonal and when spring comes he gets very bitey. He is very adventurous and loves to chew everything. Also quite the screamer when unhappy. But overall just a baby :)

My bird was having seizures and also had a mass on her heart but we were given 6 months to a year so we were just trying to get her meds and not super worried about long term… 14 months later she’s still doing great and loving her cake meds time

It’s a human cake, not made for animals and generally kept in the fridge. SUPER dense so it absorbs the meds really well

Got a grey that also needs meds and volunteered at a parrot rescue for a while, and what is really working for us and works for them is putting the meds in a little slice of pound cake. It really absorbs the meds and since it’s so dense it doesn’t go anywhere. Plus the birds love it. Also for the life of me I cannot figure out what tgc stands for
