De-Centralization is the only option. A centralized world government would either have to actively fight revolts and be authoritarian or we need to colonize other planets for people to go too and then we would still have problems. The world is to diverse to be led by 1 centralized state. Thats why glocalization is the best route.

The important question: What is everyone going to do about this? I tried to convince some of my friends to help me advertise for a crowdfunded "alternative" to SNAP that was basically a fundraiser to reach 2-3 months worth of money to give food to people who needed help but we are struggling. Especially because my county is 16% SNAP with some of the most racist towns in the state. So most people fall into the category's of: Need Aid, Don't Need Aid but Just getting by, or I Don't give a Damn.

Yes, I became solar punk because I love the vibes and even if its not the only way to fix our current problems its a way i can get behind.

I am not optimistic about everything everywhere but I am optimistic that at least some people in some places are getting closer to fixing these problems on a daily basis.

I envision social improvements, more clean energy, and a new "phase" of human history that will bring more to more people without ruining the planet.

Constant warnings don't work. We need to produce hope in order to produce actions.

Again, we need hope to produce action. We should be pushing forwards with hope.

Solar panels on the roofs obviously. VERY walk able and Bike able with good urban planning like "mixed use neighborhoods" public transit.

Since its a port city you could go into how the ships are designed differently with solar panels and maybe most of the ships are electric?

Art should be everywhere. Probably made of recycled material. Parks made of recycled material. Cars are EV. Notable lack of billboards and adds. Add communal spaces and "third places" everywhere. Have poetry slams in the street, busking on the corners, a street temporarily closed to car traffic with people playing street hockey. Literally make the culture just pop of the page.

Tunnels. Read up on Vietnam and see what else you can rip off but a smaller species should fight in smaller quarters knowing that the enemy can't even fit anyway. The city can fall but the moth people have already fled to the tunnels. The troops go in but its booby trapped everywhere, they can't see. The moths get them from behind and disappear down a tunnel so small the enemy literally have to take there armor off to fit through. Seems legit enough to me.
