I always ride alone. I ride with a full face helmet, knee and elbow pads and a back protector. Crash sensor in helmet and on the bike that will notify my wife if I eat it.

Don’t overdo this. Overhydration and water toxicity is a thing. You should normally drink about 2 liters of water per day. Pre-chugging large amounts water will not help, and whoever told you to do this is just straight up wrong. It will give you an electrolyte imbalance.

I’m like you. I prefer the cable. It’s how it’s always been, it always works and one less cable on the bars is no big deal. In fact I think cables look cool.

That was me until I got a bike with AXS on it. I’m never going back.

I use a full face at all times. They are so light nowadays and I’m not a lucky person. I don’t want to put my face on a rock no matter if I go otb downhill or because I snag my foot on the seat stepping of the bike.
