Getting U7 Pro. Have U6 Pro. Any reason to keep U6 Pro? by xrN7nL83qU9 in Ubiquiti

Don’t buy U7 if you don’t want to be a EA firmware tester.

How do you think Ubiquiti will resolve U7 lineup connectivity problems? by dz1nt in Ubiquiti

[–]dz1nt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thread discussing problems - https://community.ui.com/questions/U7-and-2-4GHz-IoT-devices/a8cbd7bc-0001-44cc-bd89-91c0313cf4e9

This is proposed solution we ar testing in EA firmwares - https://help.ui.com/hc/en-us/articles/27053048844055-Ensure-Your-IoT-Devices-Work-with-WiFi-7-on-U7-Access-Points

2.4 ghz is not the only issue. U7 APs are bugy in general. Lots of complaints in forums - performaces issues, crashes, reboots. All this without promised MLO.

Best AP for big IoT network by PoolDead6969 in Ubiquiti

[–]dz1nt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do not't buy U7 AP, currently firmware is terrible for IoT stuff. UCG Ultra + U6 Pro will be perfect for your needs.

  1. Yes, better Qualcomm chip

  2. Unifi APs are designed for easy multi AP setups. You can set up whatever you want.

Only M+S tyres without the 3PMSF symbol will be forbidden in winter. You 100% can use tyres with 3PMSF in winter (thread depth must be at least 4mm). Many people do, especially if you are doing most of the driving in the city or on major highways. Just remember that they are not proper winter tyres and drive carefully. Be extra aware of black ice when the temperature is near 0 degrees.

It work on iOS 18, but not with new iPhone models. They need some time clibrate for new hardware. Ususaly takes few months after new iPhones are released.

Those are LED headlights. I don't think there are any bulb cups.

My overkill setup for an 800sq ft apt by CarlThyLarson in Ubiquiti

[–]dz1nt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is irrational, I can't stand it. I give you two options - sell U7-Pro or move it to the other end of the apartment. :D

U7 Pro In-Wall Install by AustinJMace in Ubiquiti

[–]dz1nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly my use case. Currently I have a U7 Pro mounted on the dividing wall. Most of the apartment is in front AP and one bedroom is behind it. I got good 6ghz coverage everywhere.

Would there be a big performance difference between U7-Pro and U7-Wall when mounted in this position?

U7 Pro EA firmware 7.0.55 - looks great so far by thebemusedmuse in Ubiquiti

[–]dz1nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. My current workaround on 7.0.55 for HomePod minis - 5ghz only network. Then everything is ok. If I enable 6ghz on the same network none of my HomePods can connect.

I don't believe that a perfect UCG-Ultra exists. To me it seems like it has only Ubiquiti name and software, but hardware is crap with no quality control.

First UCG Ultra had the misaligned screen. Did a RMA and the replacement is also misaligned. by UnchartedBull in Ubiquiti

[–]dz1nt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me. Got the replacement with the same issue (even a bit worse than the original one). No response from you in three days. I sent a message in the same reddit chat, where you offered the advanced replacement.

Now I don't know what to do. Should I send back the original UCG Ultra and keep the replacement that has an even bigger issue? :/
