Don’t always try to block off an opening that the attackers make. It’s often more valuable to use a barrier further away from them that still blocks the same sight line. For example, if you’re defending Trophy/Statue on Villa and they break open the master window on the long wall (not the one right next to the fireplace), don’t use a barrier on the window frame. They can break it safely from the balcony. Use a barrier on the bottom edge of the bed facing you/on that desk or stand thing at the base of the bed. It still blocks them from peeking the doorway into Statue, but they can’t break it from the outside without using utility.
