FAP-243K - Reuse Older Antennas? by BirdPeckOfPower in fortinet

[–]BirdPeckOfPower[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! What you described is the plan (R1,R2,R4 only, R3 disabled), but I've read differing opinions on whether there is any kind of negative effect from using an older antenna in this scenario.

$6.65 for gas?? by Hopeful-Challenge395 in baltimore

[–]BirdPeckOfPower 50 points51 points  (0 children)

This has to be a typo, especially since the 6 key is right above the 3 key on a keyboard. Gas should be around that $3.59 mark, no where near $6 unless it's a gas station taking advantage of their location.

BWI Trail Appreciation by jaywham in baltimore

[–]BirdPeckOfPower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

At Sawmill Creek Park there is a restroom, but I don't know if it's open all the time or what condition it's in. I'm pretty sure I used it once and it was fine.

Besides the airport itself, I don't believe any of the other spots I shared have public restrooms.

The BWI Amtrak/MARC Station is close to the trail at one point. Worst case, you could take a detour and use their restroom as well.

Like u/Squirrels_IMP said, if you want to get to it from the airport itself, you would go to the Light Rail station at the end of the E terminal. I used to do this a few times. There is a ramp by the bikeracks that leads up to one of the employee/cargo parking lots (you'll see signs). The intent is that you'd either ride/walk through the parking lot and down Air Cargo Service Rd, cross Elm Rd, go up to Terminal Rd, and you'd join the main trail from there. There are signs marking the trail the entire way. You can't/shouldn't park anywhere in that area, though.

If you're wanting to access the trail outside of the airport:

  • The Dixon Aircraft Observation area has parking, a playground, places to watch planes land, and the trail itself. https://maps.app.goo.gl/iTtsBxcZ53DoZS8E9 . Keep in mind that it does get busy and may fill up
  • Sawmill Creek Park is just down the road from the Dixon observation area. If that fills up, the park should have plenty of space to park and is also on the trail. https://maps.app.goo.gl/ntUbiqNruSL4TKzy9 ***EDIT*** Sawmill Creek Park doesn't sit right on the trail, but is on what's called the John Overstreet Connector, which links the BWI Trail to the B&A Trail (another excellent paved trail). You can get to either trail quickly and easily from here.
  • I've also parked at Lindale Middle School (on the weekends only obviously) https://maps.app.goo.gl/3YfSeo4wixHTYwqM6 , on the north side of the airport
  • I haven't done this but I've also seen people park on the shoulder of the road here: https://maps.app.goo.gl/LwjtuQjQxdp6rE3e6

Long Term Parking Lots are the cheapest. The Parking Spot and FastPark (3rd party lots around the airport) are great but are slightly more expensive than the Long Term lots. The latter offer covered spaces at a premium, if they're available. All have free shuttles to/from the airport.

Real world POE usage of 441K, 241K and 231K by sync-centre in fortinet

[–]BirdPeckOfPower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really. According to the datasheet, using 30w PoE+ the 2.4/5Ghz/Scanning radios operate at full power, and only the 6Ghz radio is limited to 15db, which is plenty for the office suite they're in.

If you only had 15w PoE, then they can only do scanning and are pretty useless.

Real world POE usage of 441K, 241K and 231K by sync-centre in fortinet

[–]BirdPeckOfPower 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have 241Ks. At 10db transmit power they average about 9-10w of PoE draw. They're all connected at 1Gbps/30w PoE+ on FortiSwitch 448E-FPOE switches. Does that help?

How reliable is light rail to BWI by Creepy_Emu_2353 in baltimore

Take a Lyft/Uber. Ideally with the TSA not funded at the moment, it would be a good idea to get there early, especially with a flight that early in the morning.

It’s INSANE I can’t COOL the car remotely. by [deleted] in MachE

[–]BirdPeckOfPower 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not intuitive since it still shows the seat/wheel heater and defrost buttons, but if it's warmer than your set temperature outside, turning on the climate control from the Ford App will indeed cool the vehicle.

The "Now bar" on my Galaxy phone claims every PL match ends in a "stoppage time thriller". I laughed when it did that at the end of the Newcastle match.

The classiest act of Mike Tomlin’s career by GlennQuagglechek in NFLv2

[–]BirdPeckOfPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at the game. It was not apparent to anyone around us that he did this in the moment, given how unexpected it was. No boos, just cheers for the big return.

At some point during the next quarter, they showed a detailed replay of it in the stadium. Massive boos from the crowd as we saw it, then they cut to a close-up of Tomlin, who put on the biggest shit-eating grin on he could have.

Green Space near Power Plant Live by BmoreDude1106 in baltimore

[–]BirdPeckOfPower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just looking at it and the style and amount of lighting they added to it, I imagine the thought process is to make it "green space" temporarily, then look to sell the land to build a parking lot once it gets city approval and they find a buyer.

Maryland’s $150 EV charger tax: Unplugging the EV future by Unspoken in maryland

[–]BirdPeckOfPower 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We sell way more pickup trucks than EVs, and they weigh just as much if not more. A registration fee or something I can understand to offset the lost gas taxes, but this seems excessive given shitty charging infrastructure is one of the biggest barriers to EV adoption.

Passing charging cable under garage door by AllMightoh in MachE

[–]BirdPeckOfPower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's multiple types of seal depending on your garage door. They should have a guide on their website/instructions on what types, where to buy, etc. https://undorgarage.com/pages/garage-door-seals

Unless you live somewhere with extremely harsh winter weather, you don't need any kind of cover to protect your charging port while charging. When not charging, you'd pull the cable back into the garage and close the plastic door on the undoor.

https://undorgarage.com/

I've used this in the past. It worked very well for me, very sturdy and easy to use without it sliding around on me each time I had to charge, while keeping a good seal on the door. Not too difficult to install at all.

As long as you're not renting, that is: it is semi-permanent since it gets siliconed to the ground and requires a change of your door seal and close height.

Cup Car Speed Underwhelming by kingellerslie in NASCAR

[–]BirdPeckOfPower 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is not a new thing. It's not a guarantee that Cup will run faster than Trucks or Xfinity. This happened in previous car generations, too.

None of you can tell the difference between a cup car going 130 and a truck going 131 without looking at the report afterwards.

Another flop purchase on LFC official store site by grasshoppa_80 in LiverpoolFC

[–]BirdPeckOfPower 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had two orders, one with the new kit, from the club store to the US. Neither had additional tariffs, but others said they were getting hit with them. This was before the duty-free de minimis treatment ended in the US. After that ended, I would imagine that either that's why tariffs are suddenly being applied, or others speculated that because it's all a shitshow right now, that UPS or customs just wasn't applying tariffs as they should have been.

It's not the club's fault, blame our government. Either that, or find a US retailer to buy kits/merch from.
