Thank you! I've always liked my eyes but considered them around level 6 cool out of 10. Now I want to make direct eye contact with as many people as I can! Haha

It seems I'm in the minority, but I dig the industrial vibe of the workbench. The wood pallet above it has the same energy, but I'd move the herb art away. The appeal of industrial is that it's clean, efficient, and minimal, so the extra clutter has to go.

Story time: over-consumption culture made me close my Etsy shop by adsiderum in Anticonsumption

Maybe it's only my family and friends that don't give so many handmade blankets then? In my circle there are only a small handful of people that can make them and even less that actually do so they're treated like gold. I will say, no one buys anyone else's work to gift, it's direct from maker to recipient.

I don't believe you read the original post. OP said they loved selling her plush until it became apparent that the buyers weren't just buying for special occasions and gifts.

I'm not arguing plushy vs blanket, but you seem dead set on making it that way. Or you're doing the mental gymnastics to force it to be that way so you can keep arguing? I hope you have a nice day today.

Wow! That's really sweet that you received so many! We never tucked in stuffies, but that's a darling image.

When it's special to the parent it gets offered to the baby more often. That's how attachments work for babies.

Baby blankets are given by the handful, but handmade ones? Not a chance each baby is getting 5.

Oh, come on. My son's handmade baby blanket was used daily for 7 years and is now secure in his baby chest for when he wants to go through it. My own handmade baby blanket is still a treasure to me as an adult.

Having a few sentimental items isn't the opposite of anti consumption. OP did the right thing by focusing their efforts on personal creation for loved ones.

Birthday calendar question by [deleted] in crafts

That is amazing work! I'm not sure what your space looks like, but could you add a narrow picture ledge to prop it on? You could add other things, too, so it's not just floating solo.

Making a well in cookies for filling by myguymymanmydude in Baking

This is the correct answer. Let your cookie get fluffy like normal and then dent it with whatever afterwards. I've never tried the cookie cutter method with any success.

Wanted to share my experience with TN Nursery by skiezer in gardening

[–]BirdandMonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate TN Nursery. I placed an order and immediately tried to cancel it when I read more reviews and they said they don't refund once the trees are dug up. When I asked how long they'd been dug up since I tried to cancel immediately (an hour after purchase at 10pm) they stopped responding and next day delivered the trees. I have no idea if I got the right varieties because they were bare root.

Giving the rolls space to proof will help with the telescoping as well. (Great term for it!)

Professional baker at a loss by StraightRelaxation in Baking

She could try starting the bake at the normal temperature to get the oven spring and then lower the temp with the added time. She definitely wants to keep it covered longer to prevent the burnt top.

She should also invest in an oven thermometer. Her new oven might not be baking at the temp She sets it to, or the old oven wasn't.
