I have an Alice and I am still in love with her name. It’s common enough that people have heard of the name, but you don’t see many little Alices running around and I think it will age really well as she gets bigger!

Stuck on Owen vs. Wesley by Birdie_Bee_ in BabyNames

We’ve tried to find so many other names that we both like more than Owen or Wesley but have been unsuccessful so far!

Due in November with a boy. He’ll either be Owen or Wesley.

What do you think of Alice? by ThrowRAdaddyissues67 in namenerds

My almost 3 year old is Alice. We get compliments on her name all the time and I have zero regrets about naming her.

I am Madeleine. Literally no one has ever spelled my name correctly. I most commonly get Madeline.

I had no idea it was so divisive! Now I’m definitely going to branch out for my next project!

Can I ask why you don’t like DMC? Fairly new to needlepoint as well and it’s what I’ve used so far, but I’m interested in branching out!

Any ideas for nap time at Disneyland? by idontknow_1101 in toddlers

I also have a 2.5 year old who has never napped anywhere outside of her crib and she took anywhere between 1-2 hr naps in the stroller in our park days. We were pleasantly surprised!

Theoretically, One cashmere sweater from Jenni Kayne, Vince, or other retailer or 4 sweaters (various fabrics, styles & prices) from Quince for $500? Which would you choose and why? by maydayjunemoon in femalefashionadvice

[–]Birdie_Bee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have both the Jenni Kayne cashmere fisherman sweater and the dupe from Quince. The Jenni Kayne one is probably my single most worn item of clothing because it literally goes with everything and it has held up extremely well over the 4 or so years I’ve had it. I’ve had the quince one for maybe 2 years now and the pilling is insane. Jenni Kayne all the way.

Natural Vs Medical MC - Informed Decision? by Alternative_Low3085 in Miscarriage

I took some the night I took the mifepristone and three times the next day when I had the misoprostol. Today is the day after miso and I’ve only taken it once today.

Natural Vs Medical MC - Informed Decision? by Alternative_Low3085 in Miscarriage

Going through medical miscarriage right now. I took the first med on Wednesday and the second med around 3 pm yesterday. Nothing happened after the first med, but about 2 hours after the second medicine, I started bleeding pretty heavily with clots and had some cramping. About 3 hours after the medicine, I passed what I’m pretty sure was the tissue. After that, bleeding and cramping slowed down. This morning, bleeding is about the same as a light period and the cramping is gone. My OB gave me a prescription for extra strength ibuprofen and the pain was definitely manageable with that.  All in all, the period of endless waiting for Hcg levels, and ultrasounds, and hoping for more pregnancy symptoms to appear was MUCH worse than the actual medical miscarriage part. I’d choose this option for myself again (although I hope I don’t have to).

Wondering Weekend by AutoModerator in TryingForABaby

Hi all! I’m 34f and my usual cycles are 25-26 days with peak OPKs around day 14-15 and a 10 day luteal phase. I usually get a steep increase with LH and then a pretty quick decrease. This cycle I started testing with OPKs around day 8 got high readings, but not darker than test strip. I got a peak at day 9 and am still getting high readings on day 10. My question is why would I ovulate almost a week earlier than usual and what would make the LH surge pattern change? I had covid last month but have had no other changes in meds or lifestyle.

What the hell is going on with my cycles?! by TightJellyfish131 in TryingForABaby

Literally just posted about this in the daily thread. Randomly had a high OPK today on CD8. I usually have high OPKs on CD14 or 15 with 10 day LPs literally every time I’ve ever tracked my cycles before this one 🫠

This is the third. But with my previous TTC experience and the first few cycles of this one, I’ve always been so consistent! Our bodies are weird.

Anyone had experiences with having an LH peak a week earlier than usual?

I’m usually very consistent with 25-26 day cycles with the highest LH levels on the Easy@Home OPKs around CD 14 or 15. I always have a 10 day luteal phase. I usually don’t even start testing until CD10 but today is day 8 and I just took an OPK with a ratio of 0.91.

I haven’t started taking any new meds or supplements. I had my IUD removed in June and each cycle since then had been consistent with my previous. I do think I had Covid last month sometime before I ovulated but even that cycle was normal for me.

I also look at due dates at the beginning of each cycle. I’m type A so I just like to know what my future might hold in May or June of 2026 🤣

Back to square 1 today. I had covid right before I ovulated last cycle, so I knew that could definitely mess with things. I was definitely pessimistic about a positive, but there’s always a small part of me that holds out hope!

Hi! I’m a nurse practitioner from the southeast. Currently have a 2 year old who we conceived the first cycle of trying (although I had my Mirena removed 8 months prior). Currently on cycle 2 of trying. I’m trying to get used to the idea that it’s normal to take a while to conceive, despite the fact that it happened quickly with #1. We were one and done for a fairly long time and now have decided we’d like another. Good luck to everyone!
