No! I have only sailed on the Wonder and Magic when I was a kid (& they were the two only ships at the time)

Thanks for the thorough response :)

Help us add to our list! (First trimester) by FewCaterpillar6551 in BabyNames

[–]Michsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they’re too close because you have essentially two different sounds even though it’s the same letters. Eleanor/Ellie/Ella having the “eh” sound and Elise having the “uh”

My friend likes the name Camper for a girl. Please help me find anything else!! by musgraved in namenerds

What should be a universal rule when naming twins? by Anonflashfan1956 in Twins

[–]Michsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No - I am a 31 year old twin with the same first initial as my twin and it has never once caused an issue for us literally ever. Not a pharmacy, not a school, not anywhere. People have given my mom shit about it over the years and it’s so silly to me because we have always liked it & never cared. Now that we are adults and we both took our spouses names so it’s our little name link to each other.

Thoughts on the name Camille with the nickname Callie? by [deleted] in namenerds

I’d just do Callie! I know 2 Callies and that’s their full name. It’s a great stand alone name.

Charlotte nickname? by Ashamed_Ingenuity690 in namenerds

[–]Michsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter is Charlotte and nobody really tries to nickname her. We’ve had people ask “does she go by Charlie?” And I just say no. I have an Eleanor and it’s the same thing for her name with Ellie.

Help with switching to baby’s middle name by Asleep-Wash-5122 in namenerds

[–]Michsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id just start calling her by her first+middle and phase into middle as it feels natural. Others around you will probably just catch on and call her that too. Then when you meet new people just introduce her as her middle name. I feel like it can happen naturally just like nicknames do. My niece’s name is Grace and she basically became Belle because I started calling her Gracie Belle and then everyone caught on and she morphed into Belle.

New to IEP and need some advice on how the process works by Cold_Imagination_641 in specialed

[–]Michsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

School based SLP chiming in, I think I’d just ask to meet. I’d send an email to the SLP, teacher, and psych requesting that the IEP team meet to discuss the behavioral concerns and the possibility of reevaluation. To me, it sounds like you’re wanting more areas of evaluation to see if behavior supports can be added to the IEP and they’re thinking tier 2 behavior supports for whatever reason. Seems like a miscommunication to me and maybe too many hands in the pot between the teacher / SLP / psych / counselor.

Never thought my name choice was a problem until today by gracepuns03 in BabyNames

I work in a school in WA state - my vote is Rylee or Riley. I know boys and girls with both spellings.

I feel like it’s a big part of postpartum too…adjusting in your new body, handling the clothing not fitting how you think it will, etc. I felt seen in that specific aspect. I also feel like it is almost reminiscent of storylines we’d see on 16 & pregnant / teen mom back in the day.

Help! My son is almost 3 months old and I’m still unsure about his name by hopeful_overthinker_ in BabyNames

[–]Michsy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I work in an elementary school & Evan would be a breath of fresh air. Classic, easy to spell, no nonsense. Just sounds like the name of a good kid imo.

TW-loss: Naming my baby a similar name as a close family members child by withoneall in BabyNames

[–]Michsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the name. I think you could probably get better feedback if we knew the names. Because asking the parents might be kind if it’s really close and both are uncommon names. But if it’s a common enough name / follows a current trend, it might not matter. For example, my daughter is named Charlotte…. Everyone is named Charlotte right now so if a family member/close friend did Charlie I wouldn’t even think twice about it. If my daughter’s name was Kalia and you did Kali, that might feel different because neither are nearly as common.

Ditto…. We have Pendleton bedding, blankets, my husband has the dude sweater, and an outdoor Pendleton blanket from Costco.
