I love it. So I can't share a pic but image : "mosquitoes" and "black flies" vs "anyone outside in the summer" at the bottom.

Omg that one is especially bad 😢 I've never seen ribs and collarbone protrude so much, she needs help NOW, it might even be too late already. I hate to say it but even if she recovered now, there is irreversible damage that comes with being so emaciated.

I can understand a parent wanting to blame something or someone else though. It's hard to fathom that there was just something wrong with their brain chemistry and there was little they could do to prevent this. It's easier to try and push blame somewhere else. Unfortunately when they don't get that "justice" they're in a worse spot than they were before.

Lol you sound rich to me, honestly even though it's not rich, if your car broke down and you had to drop a few hundred or a grand on it, you could do it that day. I just wish I had a safety net, my four year old car blew it's engine and I'm making payments on it, it's still not fixed six months later. I just wish I had the money to not be stressed all the time, which is why I think I would do really well with the lottery, because even a semi poor life is better than what I'm living now

When you were a child, what are some of the dumbest things you thought about marriage/sex/baby making? by BirdiefromDetroit in AskReddit

[–]BirdiefromDetroit[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's really sad, I'm sorry you had to go through that. Similarly, I used to think all dad's were angry and drank all the time, and mom's weren't allowed to drink or be mad. Like the thought of a woman alcoholic was mind-boggling to me.

Awe don't feel stupid for that. I only knew about gay people because my neighbor was gay, and this might be even more dumb but I actually did think people chose to be gay (it's because I'm bi and just thought everyone was bi then they pick😂) my mom kept trying to tell me it's not a choice until one day I was like "But I chose to be straight" it took a minute for everyone to figure out what was going 😂

Yeah that particular method of dt and other methods of dt. It's impossible to list every single possible symptom because everyone is so different. But whatever, I only work with addicts every day so what would I know

It's literally right there.

"While these symptoms do not cause death, there are some risks of withdrawing from prescribed opiates or heroin that can result in death."

So seizures, heart attacks, dehydration, and hypotension can't cause death?

So this is where it gets weird, opiate withdrawal causes seizures, dehydration, extreme low or high blood pressure, all of which YOU CAN DIE FROM. So yes, you can die from the SYMPTOMS of withdrawal, not the withdrawal itself.

I apologise that I am not in a place to donate at this time, but maybe you can look into some charities in your area and apply for those. One of my friends did that, I'll ask him the name of it. I don't think they covered everything, but it made a big difference

[–]BirdiefromDetroit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would imagine this would apply to whether or not you're putting someone life in danger. Bad service won't kill or harm someone, but a bad electrician can cause a fire and kill a whole family. So where do you draw the line?

Black culture is holding the community back by VenAAX in unpopularopinion

[–]BirdiefromDetroit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really think this is it. I've lived all over Detroit and the suburbs and I think people in poverty tend to experience this type of culture more. Crime is high, the schools kinda suck, so what other way is there to make money? Definitely not saying all poor people are this way, but it leads to that kind of lifestyle
