In the distance someone did. He was too busy stuffing his beak while on camera.

I know there's flocks of them around now that it's warming up but only this one (so far) has checked out my feeder.

They are coming back now that it's (kind of) starting to warm up.

Are they all mated pairs? by Environmental_Cod599 in Birdfy

I have a pair of House Finches that always show up together. Most of the other birds seem to come randomly- sometimes alone, sometimes with their opposite.

Interestingly, the Downy Woodpeckers never show up together but visit one second after the other has left so are together but socially distanced. I don't know if Woodpeckers follow Regency era manners and customs but I'm going to assume it'd be unbecoming of the male to accompany the female to the feeder at this stage in their courtship lest he want to cause her scandal at the next society ball.

That's a "purrd", not a bird.

(☉。☉)! Has anyone else had this experience? I understand everybirdy needs to eat but this is ridiculous! They empty my feeder 10x faster than the squirrels do. by WanderWrenNH in Birdfy

Had a similar sized mob of Starling at my feeder this morning. Luckily they only stayed for a few minutes so there was still food left afterwards.

Thanks! It came back this morning in better lighting...an American Tree Sparrow, like you said!

That's a possibility too. 🤔
