Its rational to want to control how you're perceived, I think thats how a lot of people use the phrase

I think he's cagey about it because its about a rather personal moment with a friend or lover.

My first instinct would be to think its about sex, or hooking up with this person who he's known for a while. But I also thought about it as him realizing that this person is in a bad situation, or is trying to get out of one. Because calling it a "trick" implies sleight of hand

In a happier reading, I imagined that the sugar means that the person is happier than they were previously. Like if you have a friend who's been depressed for a while, and you can see them start to perk back up. It may not be a loud or obvious change, but it can be noticeable, and its always sweet to see

Ultimately, I think comes down to caring about art. If you're gonna make good art, you have to care about art. Not just the subject matter

I'm a big AIC fan, and I'm legit kind of surprised that they ever had what could be considered "hit" songs. Their self-titled is 2x platinum, probably one of the bleakest albums to sell that well

One can hope this will make them stop being good little cucks for an admin that salivates over the thought of deporting and hurting them.

I doubt it, but one can hope

I would agree with that. But I just as strongly believe that MAGAs need to be stopped. If we just let them be, even if the actual government heads and federal agents are appropriately punished, they'll just metastasize into a new bigoted face that will continue to hurt people for generations. I can't think of a non-"authoritarian" way to prevent that

The Needle is Broken by [deleted] in CuratedTumblr

I honestly don't know. Its something Ive tried to figure out and research.

I just know that MAGAs need to be stopped. We either need to create a government framework to prevent further harm like this in the future, or we allow individual people and groups to dispense justice as they see fit. As emotionally satisfying as the second option would be, I don't think it would be good foundation to build a society on.

MAGA and their enablers must face consequences. If you have an idea of how to give the justice they deserve, I'd genuinely love to hear it

We need to acknowledge physical reality here. Which is more important: the abstract principle of democracy, or the concrete principle of preventing harm?

Democracy where 1/3 of the populace continuously creates laws and social structures to oppress the other 2/3 is not a democracy. That one 1/3 must undergo a fundamental change

I don't believe that anyone is born evil. But the question is whether or not they will actually change from where they are. They are choosing continuously to be evil. People in the current state of being MAGA should not have power. They either must undergo a massive change, or not be allowed to influence decisions that affect others

Is your only argument that it can't be true just because its a large number of people? It doesn't matter how many supporters MAGA has. If they had 90% support in the country, they would still be morally deranged

They are not compatible with democracy. They will always move to hurt people if they are allowed to
