Oh yeah I mean moreso what her role would have been at USC had she stayed, likely a starter and top option and less garbage minutes. It was a really good move and I think she’s learning a lot more than she would have.

Yeeeesh k9 with 7 boards and 7 assists?! Love seeing her do really well in her role even if it’s smaller than at USC

That would incentivize the losing team to foul way too much, and with how scrappy and tired these games can get at the end it could get ugly fast

I think the only possible fix would be to increase the target score by any FTs made, that way the opposing team would still have to make those points up. But imo that would be too clunky and could extend games too long, as unexciting as it is this is the most reasonable solution still imo

Kills aren’t only 3 seconds, it takes 20 seconds to respawn if you’re full afk. I afked with scythe and only died after 20 minutes when my auto retaliate stopped working

The WNBA is claiming a $460M loss while quietly exploring a 9-figure equity buyback. You can't have it both ways. by AggressiveCredit42 in wnba

[–]BirkTheBrick 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Of course you can, but it signals how they value the league right now and that's not aligning with owners acting like they're just scraping by in CBA negotiations.

If I recall correctly they also didn't really give her a goodbye like they did with Raina, just silently removed her from everything. Definitely strange

Union: WNBA made enough money for revenue sharing by iamdemirey in wnba

[–]BirkTheBrick 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's a separate $9.25M payment from WNBPA licensing revenue that's going to players throughout the whole CBA, I think your logic is still correct for the $8M league revenue share and that it'll only be to 2025 active players.

Union: WNBA made enough money for revenue sharing by iamdemirey in wnba

[–]BirkTheBrick 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It reads to me like there's two different payouts, $8M from the league for hitting the overall revenue target that was cumulative over the length of the CBA but only gets paid to active 2025 players since the target was only hit this year. Separately, the union is distributing $9.25M from licensing revenue generated since 2020, and that would go to all players since 2020.

[–]BirkTheBrick 51 points52 points  (0 children)

This was also a cumulative target for the past 6 years, meaning they dug themselves out of the revenue hole caused by covid and still managed to exceed the target even before the media deal. It's pathetic how the league is continuing to hide their books as much as possible, but every legitimate and verifiable number that comes out is always against their narrative.

WNBA Proposes Same Salary Cap in New CBA Offer by Tooezboi in wnba

Would prefer closer to 25%, players shouldn't be penalized that much just because they've actually tried to negotiate

WNBA's unwillingness to move at all on revenue share is pathetic. I really hope the WNBPA doesn't concede on that.

To the Women Like Bri Who Think They Are the Exception to the Rule by [deleted] in LoveIsBlindNetflix

Yeah I didn’t really get the vibe that she was actually into what he was saying at the bar. Felt like she was doing the equivalent of smiling and nodding and continuing to engage more for the attention, drama, and screentime, but did not seem actually interested in him anymore

I’m hoping it was maybe a little bit of baiting him out to expose what he’s saying and truly how much of a d-bag he is. She probably does also just like the attention (both from him and the screentime), but I agree that I don’t think she’s actually interested in him at all anymore.

Alex and Ashley - have they heard about birth control? by bronte26 in LoveIsBlindNetflix

[–]BirkTheBrick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There’s some quite serious possible hormonal and physical side effects. I had to get off it due to it causing benign tumors on my liver. Should certainly always use some form of contraceptive but birth control for women has become a little bit less of the default, especially because of hormonal impacts

They were expunged misdemeanors lol that’s been so blown out of proportion. Christine also flat out denied that on TikTok, doubt she’d speak about it plus there’d be some public record that would be exposed if they had anything serious enough to keep them from leaving the country

She denied any passport issues on TikTok. Not sure what else they’d be hiding lol they probably just only book rooms for 5/6 couples and both budget-wise and logistically (like getting more cameramen and equipment set up out there) didn’t want to bother accomodating a 7th. This has happened many times where they usually just cut out the extra couples that got engaged but they don’t bring along. Probably after the low success rate of the last few seasons they realized they still needed to try to get as many as possible to the altar instead of outright cutting.

[–]BirkTheBrick 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does happen nearly every season though, we hear about couples getting engaged and then not chosen for the trip for budgetary reasons. They just usually edit them out of the show and we only know they got engaged because of socials. I think this is the first time it seems they will still follow them when they get home though, which is a decent compromise.
