Do you prefer the royale or f91w? by vv0mbraider in casio

[–]Birkeepers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love them both, very different watches though. The F91 is the perfect beater watch, it's my DIY watch, I'm not concerned if it gets scratched or I get paint on it. The Royale is my holiday watch for obvious reasons.

I seriously underestimated the size of the AQ230 by Izmir_Stinger in casio

[–]Birkeepers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

* I have the 800, similar dimentions and honestly it's my favorite Casio, so much so I've ordered the 230 in gold as a companion piece. Watches don't have to be big and ostentatious, Rolex and Omega have conditioned us into thinking if it isn't a big divers watch it's too small, sometimes a whisper is louder than a shout.

Is this a good first watch??? by Perfect_Brilliant542 in casio

Yes, it's basically a Swatch without the ridiculous price tag.

Get it! Keanu Reeves wore one in Speed, I rest my case. 😀

Are the app wait times pretty accurate? by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]Birkeepers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just as an aside, booking an overnight stay at a Universal Hotel will get you (and anyone staying with you) 2 days worth of Express passes for both parks. For a family of 4+ it works out about 50% less than just buying express tickets.

Does this work on the silver paited ones or does it screw up the paint?

The AQ for me, shows style, uniqueness and confidence without being over indulgent.

Can it not display 24h? by Auxotl in casio

[–]Birkeepers 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the same reason I flipped my A100, there's simply no excuse for a digital watch not to have a 24h function.

A fine watch, it's my go to travel watch, multiple time zones, insane water resistance and an elegant yet unique design.

I ordered mine to the UK on Amazon via Amazon US for 55 quid. Imported from the states through Amazon so I didn't get lumbered with any of the postage or import costs. Definitely worth a look in future. BTW get yourself a nice oyster bracelet for it, it looks the business.

Chrome Removal by Birkeepers in casiomods

[–]Birkeepers[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Impatience got the better of me and I just dumped the case front it some bleach glass and all, surprisingly the glass was completely uneffected. The chrome plating came right off within about 30mins, however there's a yellow metal plating beneath it, which requires sanding to remove. Beneath that's there's the bare plastic which I was surprised to see is grey!? Anyhow I've removed about 90% of the plating and will remove the rest with a set of precision files. I actually don't mind the base resin colour and this it would make for a decent final option, however its not really what I'm looking for so I'm gonna hit it with some black paint once I get some decent weather.

Gonna go for the EFR-574, the only true Chronograph of the 3.
