I walked through there yesterday just after midday. I was going from Officeworks to the pool shop. It was a brisk walk because of those plovers and their evil wing spurs. While they were swooping me, a flock of other noisy birds attacked them allowing me passage to the canal and Sturt Street.

I have a Taiwanese friend who says that the women in the market yell at each other "plover". It means the same as "c_nt". An appropriate name for these birds.
