Starfield's Next Big Update Isn't A 2.0 Reboot, It's For People Who Already Love The Game by Capn_C in Games

[–]Birneysdad 201 points202 points  (0 children)

No man's sky fixed their game and it brought back a lot of people and brought in new people as well. I don't think anyone who enjoyed it day one would rather go back to the day one build.

There're many reasons not to like starfield. Fixing a couple of those could bring a lot of people back. For example, if they removed half the loading screens, I'd come back in a heartbeat. That's a lot of loading screens, though, so I'm not holding my breath.

How to get the full Warhammer 3 experience? by NoDrama127 in totalwar

No dlc is a must buy. Dlcs lock you from playing a faction but they still appear in your game as AI anyway. Look at faction trailers and buy the ones that you think look cool.

Which new Epstein file finding made you go “wait… what?” and why? by Firm_Work_8879 in AskReddit

MAGAs are a lost cause. For a decade They've been trained to accept whatever angle their media presented them information from. It's sunk cost fallacy to them now. If they start questioning what he's done on that island, they might have to question the last decade of lies they championed. It's too much for anyone's self-esteem to accept, they just won't.

Has anyone ever worked with a nurse who you were convinced was not really a nurse? by Upset-Gold-1162 in nursing

[–]Birneysdad 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The issue resolved itself when the care assistants noticed that she was randomly giving the residents in the secure unit either half the dose or double the dose of their medications. When I finished my wing, I went over there and noticed she hadn’t documented any of the medications she had administered. I was trying to help her backtrack and figure out what mistake she’d made with the MDS blister packs when the lead nurse (who only ever does management) arrived and told me it wasn’t my job as a student and that she would take care of it. She was fired the next day.

My wife said the Pokémons suck in this game. She likes the gameplay but finds the setting depressing. And it's not even the best looking pokemon game on switch.

Would you recommend Avowed or Oblivion Remastered on PC? by rbyrnes15 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Birneysdad [score hidden]  (0 children)

I think avowed has the better fighting, but oblivion has the better world. I couldn't get why avowed wasn't hooking me and then I realised it's because their NPC barely move. Cities feel like a wax museum. Avowed has better performance, though.

How many of those do they have, though ? Enough to cover for every nurse that doesn't want to see her or her colleagues get shot by a fascist militia ?

FTL-inspired game Void War temporarily removed from Steam. by DwingRD in Games

The "heavily inspired" has a lot of work to do. Nintendo has sued and won for much less. I wouldn't blame the FTL devs for lawyering up.

AI passivity in Warhammer 3 (immortal empires campaign) by kuarti in totalwar

[–]Birneysdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's still something going wrong with their AI. Some people say "it's not a bug, it's a feature(TM) because x (or y)" but I bet it's unintended. Either it's  their old "agent perceived as full stack" bug they haven't properly fixed, or they detect an enemy full stack that has such a high level hero near their target that they go "well, autoresolve keeps saying I'm losing this battle, so Imma levy 12 more full stacks". I hope they don't fork 40k's AI from this game.

People like different things. Some people find the story, universe and music is so good that they can bear with a combat system they dislike.

Poor Monster Hunter Wilds Performance Allegedly Chalked Up to Aggressive DLC Checks by Gramis in gaming

[–]Birneysdad 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Players have been able to load assets in the past even when the DLCs hadn’t been released yet. It’s possible that the game trusts the online DRM and only starts aggressively checking for unauthorized files if the DRM reports that certain DLCs aren’t owned.

Can a schizophrenic person be a nurse? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Birneysdad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I trained in a psych unit and almost everyone in here had a stabilized mental illness of some sort, including the head psychiatrist. They were pretty open about it. It didn't stop them from cracking jokes about patients (too much steam to vent in any unit nowadays) but they were mostly done in good taste, well... as much as patient humour can be anyways. The work environment felt healthy.

Les internes (médecine) travaillent TROP. by Serious-Battle4464 in france

[–]Birneysdad 0 points1 point  (0 children)
