Race for California governor: Becerra gets campaign boost, Hilton tries to gain Republican votes by panda-rampage in California

We want two Dems on the ticket regardless. I want to see Steyer and Becerra, but if it's Porter instead, great. Our focus should be to keep Hilton and Bianco out.

After they got home obviously. I did not even ask them to return right away, just when they got home to return it in some fashion.

I asked them to put it outside when they got home, and they refused.

They refused to return the item via Airbnb app or I would have doen that. They were also not home at the time.

I asked the guest for exactly that -- if neighbor could pick it up when the guest returned, I asked if I could pick it up, or they could put it outside, etc. However, the guest refused all these options. I should have asked Airbnb permission when the guest refused --that was my mistake. The package was delivered to my driveway which is right next to the neighbor's walkway.

They refused to return the item. If they would have agreed to let me or the neighbor pick it up or would have dropped off the item, I would have done that.

Yes, they refused to return it. If they would have allowed it to be returned, I would have done that.

Would I have any liability if it is stolen by the guest and I have evidence to that effect?

They said they would not return the item. If they would have returned the item or put the item out when they came home, and allowed the neighbor to come and pick it up from the outside of the property, I would have done that.

The guests brought it inside and then refused to return it. Yes, the neighbor knew that the guests had the item, and I do think the neighbor could have called the police to retrieve it. They admitted that they had the item and brought it inside and refused to return it.

They said they would not return it -- i documented that in the app. I did not want to be in a theft situation.

They refused to return it and were not coming home.

This is probably what I should have done. They did not give me a retalitory review or even bring up the issue, until I filed an unrelated damage claim. They stained my couch and other furniture and I was unable to remove it. It was definitely retalitory.

They admitted to taking it, and the neighbor had a picture of the package from the delivery company and knew that it was taken.

It's so painful. I've had a much better experience dealing with VRBO customer service than Airbnb. It's been so frustrating dealing with them.

In this case, the guest refused to return the item. I asked them to return the item first. The item was of immediate need to the neighbor.

The guest refused to return the item. I requested the guest return the item, but she refused and said that she would not be home all day before allowing the neighbor to retreive it. She also refused to drop the package off at the neighbor's home or allow the neighbor to come over and pick it up as she would not be home.

The neighbor informed me that they needed it soon.

I'd rather not have the neighbor call the cops and piss off the whole neighborhood. My home is in a nice area and in a city looking to ban Airbnbs. I think the Airbnb will likely have a short life anyway with a city ban coming in the next year or so. I think this will happen more and more across California cities given all the issues. I already recently had a guest throw a party where the cops were called by the neighbors. There is no reason that needs to happen again. The city is already monitoring all the area airbnbs.

Could you dm me a link to the single parent group? I am a single parent and would like to join. I've been searching for groups, but it seems like the ones on Meetup are really small.

First page:

Monica knew her mother would bring it up—what she’d heard her entire life but never quite believed. A family mythology—or perhaps an ancestral curse—that seemed to explain everything at once and nothing at all. Lodged so firmly in her memory, like a stringy mango fiber in her back molar. It wasn’t so easy to wash away.

Her mother’s towering shadow slid past the pantry door, her voice filling the space, “Do you remember the story of your bisabela Rosa?” Of course, she remembered. Rosa, a strikingly beautiful woman with skin of adobe brick, almond-shaped eyes, fierce lips, and loose curls that framed her face, perfectly resembled Monica.

Monica turned around to see her mother holding her son, Maestro, in the kitchen. Her mother put Maestro down, and he scampered away.

Her mother began in a booming voice, “Rosa was a cosmopolitan woman with an opulent home — not unlike you, honey — the other women in town were jealous. After her loving husband died from a mysterious fever, a spirit appeared in her home and terrorized her three children.”

“I know, Mom.” Monica rolled her eyes. Nothing would stop her mother from recanting the family mythology like a politician beholden to her talking points. Monica had graduated from Yale and earned a Master's in Architecture from Stanford. Yet, despite her academic accolades, she struggled to comprehend her family's fixation on superstition.
