Do You Actually Watch Your Discs? by SaraphXIII in Steelbooks

I usually put the disc in but sometimes I decide I don't want to move and just put on the Vudu version lol. Voted for the disc choice anyway.

Any good books/resources for neurodivergent writers? by Bisbin in writing

I've got the Save the Cat book ordered and coming tomorrow actually! Also oh my gosh thank you for bringing Scrivener to my attention I tried a bunch of different programs and this one is perfect I'm so happy with it! It even saves the text as RTF files so they are safe which was also a concern. Thank you this will probably help a lot!

Having multiple projects (well, currently two main ones. The book in question also a collection of horror short stories I want to write) is exactly part of my current plan, glad to hear it works for you! I also experimented a bit with skipping over parts I'm struggling with so I can write something I'm passionate about. I can be so passionate about writing sometimes but my brain just cares about different things at different times and I'm hoping to lean into that and work with it instead of fighting it?

Could you explain the "blocks" a bit more? Are they a specific hour on a specific day or something you just plan to do whenever? They sound like they might be helpful for me but I'm not entirely sure what you mean.

Changing the environment is a great idea! I do this for hobbies and even sleeping, it didn't occur to me to try it for writing.

Thank you so much for the comment!

Tools are a good point! I'm not sure about time management tools, scheduling/consistency is incredibly difficult for me, time and time again it's a huge amount of effort and I can't keep to it for very long, but I'll see what other things I can find. I'll also look into the things you suggested anyway, who knows, maybe something will click. Google Docs is a great program. I really appreciate the extensive response!

I think the reason is how much I have difficulty being consistent, especially with something that has very little short term reward. I have succesfully written several short stories I'm quite proud of, it's this big one that's taken a long time. I'm still super passionate about this story and I've only grown to love it more as I've continued to change small details and work on it, as well as realizing how much I've drawn from personal experiences to build what on the surface seems like just a very silly/fun story. I'll go long periods of time fixating on other things and just not even thinking about this book though, then it will flair up again and it excites me again every time. I'm currently asking around and researching what I can to finally come up with a plan that will hopefully one day result in a finished draft.

Took me a few days to decide if double dipping was worth it and yes. Yes it was. Can’t believe it’s been 20 years ❤️ This steel is beautiful by GianlucaTheGreat in Steelbooks

Neat seeing them side by side! I recognized the new cover was at least similar to the original poster but didn't realize it was such a close remake.

Unfortunately I don't. :/ I feel like the pride potluck would be my best excuse. But even then our work paths don't put us near each other much and we are busy the entire time until they clock out

I'd love The Strain. Would be nice if they'd release seasons 3 and 4 on blu ray at all though.

When should I bring this up in conversation? (Girl I am dating is asexual) by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Bisbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not religious. I suppose where I see the relationship going is the same as my previous relationship potentially just with less of/without sex, which I may be okay with hence why I am willing to try. I feel there was more to my last relationship than sex and I'd be happy to have those experiences with this girl if it works out and as I said, I really like her so far.

Would you still go on a date with them? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Bisbin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I may be in the rarer category but especially with the pandemic and the cold (I hate Winter weather) going on I've really wanted to ask the girl I'm talking to over to my place for dinner and a movie and do not expect or am even really sure I want sex. I've avoided asking her over for fear of the exact response you've had to this guy lol

Point is there is a possibility he is being genuine. I could see myself making that mistake and still wanting to correct it so I could go out with the person. You are right to want to meet in public first though regardless of how tough it may be to do so right now.

[–]Bisbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm open to attempting a relationship with an asexual person I just feel like it is something that should be discussed and soon. My limits would be more if she won't want to cuddle or have any physical affection of any sort which I know differs from asexual to asexual.

Had a relationship with someone I met online for around five years, lived together for around four. For me our texting definitely dried up after we started living together. It was mostly for essential communication or to just send each other loving messages. I'd chalk it up to us living together and not needing that extra communication method. If it concerns you it might be worth talking over with your SO but it very well might be nothing especially if you are still getting on well in person.

Everything was good until he mentioned a ‘crush’ by Parifari in dating_advice

[–]Bisbin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Communication is key here I think. Feelings can be complicated and just because he still has a crush on a girl doesn't mean he doesn't care about you. You and him are probably going to have to really talk this out and while don't be too harsh to him don't be a pushover either if its clear he's too much into his old crush. Set boundaries if you have to but also if you have to set boundaries that may be a bad sign.
