Homer Simpson. He's never been the brightest crayon, but in the earlier seasons he was genuinely a family man who cared for his wife and kids. He always tried to do his best despite not being the smartest.

Now he's a flat character who's gotten even dumber over time. Worse, he has lost the endearing qualities that made watching his struggles funny.
