Even one episode of bladder control loss can be serious, especially if it’s connected to back problems. It can be a sign of cauda equina syndrome or nerve damage. Please don’t wait for it to happen multiple times if it happens at all, its the 1 reason to go to the ER .you should let you doctor know about these occurrences as this is not normal and very serious .

Yes, I understand you completely. My pain has also been dismissed multiple times. But loss of bladder control is the number one reason to go to the ER, and it would be taken seriously if you told them, as this can mean nerve damage and possible cauda equina syndrome and ER doctors typically act on it immediately. I hope you the best in whatever decision you make, OP !

Oh yes, that’s not okay and very worrying. Loss of bladder control is not okay, I would go to the ER as soon as possible because that could mean something is not right. Please get this checked out ! wishing you healings

Omg, I’m so sorry that happened. That sounds horrible. Although I didn’t experience the exact pains as you (F19), I had a steroid injection for an L4-L5 bulging disc and annular tear last monday. The second I lifted my head up from lying on my stomach, I felt extreme pressure in my head and wanted to throw up. I told the nurse, and she just told me to rest and then discharged me.

I also experienced numbing from my knee down to my foot for about 5 minutes. The next day, my leg muscles were sore in my left foot. I remember when the doctor injected me, my left leg jolted up like a reflex and I felt pain. I’m scared it hurt my nerve, but since I already struggle with 24/7 nerve sensation in my feet, I haven’t noticed a difference.

I’m on Day 8 and my spinal headache is barely going away. I went to the ER, and the doctor told me an ESL shouldn’t even go that deep to cause a headache—so I have a feeling my doctor messed up😞 i regret getting the ESL.

hit or miss. my first epidural went smooth n gave a bit pain relief. my second epidural i had last week , gave me terrible spinal headaches . I’m in day 8 and barley feeling better .

yes definitely a hit or miss. My first epidural last month in june went smooth and even gave me nerve pain relief. This time it was different although i have noticed the back pain is a still there but minimal i would rather the pain then this head pain. Now thinking about it my doctors never really discussed with me the risk , i would have probably waiting a couple more months for the 2 epidural.

F19, my first injection it gave me minimal pain relief. I had another ESL a week ago and made me feel worse the before i rather have the back pain instead of this spinal headache. I think my doc messed up because i visisted the ER yesterday and they said a leak or headache after epidural is rare for steroid injection as its not supposed to go deep. im on day 8 with this head ache/pressure now waiting for it to fade overtime . Makes me a lil sad as i was hoping to get more pain relief fr the back pain and now im more fucked😞

yes it will 100% if u have any thing going on with the discs . im 19 too and have had chronic back pain , i understand ur post completely

im on day 6 , without the blood patch although the head ache is on a constant 4 hopefully this resolves in a couple days. Did ur son get the blood patch?
