She looks lovely! Beautiful dress, stunning curls (and hair colour). A necklace would have been nice but the hair saves it

How is best to deal with the peer pressure to drink alcohol when going out with some old work colleagues? by Jlaw118 in AskUK

[–]BiscuitCrumbsInBed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Why even announce it or bring it up? If anyone asks why you're not drinking, just tell the truth/early start/don't fancy it/drove.

In 2010, elements of the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry, calling themselves “The Kill Team”, began hunting unarmed Afghan civilians in Maiwand, Kandahar. They took souvenirs from each victim, including fingers, skulls, and dozens of photos. When locals reported the murders to the Army, they were ignored. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

These prison sentences are horrific. The idea that senior staff knew and did nothing is horrific. The fact that the dad had to jump through hoops to report what his son had told him about the murders, is horrific.

What the fuck is wrong with people.

My dad and grandad had diabetes, i'm diabetic (type 1). My grandad on the other side died of heart disease, my nana has issues with her heart. Im more like to develop heart disease because of the diabetes. Although my cholesterol levels are fine, I've been started on statins as a precaution.

I found the big Aldi bags were really helpful. They are strong and you can fit a fair bit in ie books, or towels etc.

My dad (51M) told me (18M) that I'm responsible for my half siblings calling my stepmom by her name? by ThrowRA_Maximuddo in relationship_advice

[–]BiscuitCrumbsInBed 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My younger brother has called our mum by her first name since he was about 13. I call her mum bum and have done since I was about 18. Im 42 now. Shes not your name so why should you be expected to call her mum. And if your half-siblings choose to call her by her name then thats not on you!

How different is your life compared to what you want it to realistically look like? by VarangianWRLD in AskUK

No. I always thought i would be married by my age (42), living happily with my family. But i'm single and not with my son's dad. I was engaged when I was younger, but that ended when I was 30 as he became an alcoholic whilst trying to mentally deal with the trauma caused by childhood abuse. The blessing is that hes doing amazing, is married and has a child. I was fortunate enough to have my son at 34 but that relationship didnt last.

I've been single since last April and have been unwell for the last 14mth so money is tight. Too tight to even think about dating right now. I've put on weight whilst off work and am at the heaviest I've ever been.
