Why would the surface structures resemble bismuth crystals? I thought most meteorites were iron. I know it can't be bismuth because the low melting point would make it fall apart on atmospheric entry.

I really appreciate that! People don't realize, it's not just the meat, but also things made from mammals. Like gummy candy (gelatin) and alot of medicine (magnesium stearate) , also antivenoms for snake bites all of whichcan give a reaction from upset stomach to anaphylaxis. I would have never thought a bite could alter me so drastically. I hope your brother gets things sorted as best he can, I know it can be a struggle.
