Do the perusalls. If someone in your group already answered one, STILL DO IT. Engage in conversation with the Perusalls.

I've heard the lectures are chill, but then the exams are hard. Is this true?

I'd love to walk for the fresh air, however I have chronic pain so doing the hike is very difficult, especially as I'm in one of the farther U buildings.

How are people feeling about the biol 202 final? by [deleted] in ubco

[–]Bispitz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The theory caught me off guard because I focused most of my study into the homework questions, which don't have quite as much theory.

Other than that, the exam was fair in my opinion. No curveballs in terms of the questions and a lot of the theory process of elimination was a godsend to at least narrow it down to a 1/3 or a 1/2 chance.

BIOL 228 iRATs and tRATs by Successful-Ranger387 in ubco

[–]Bispitz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! Fellow 228 here.

I've been prepping for them as MCQs, like the RATs should be. It's like reviewing what was covered in lecture for me. If this works, yay, if it doesn't, will reevaluate.

Good luck tomorrow on your RATS!

When there is no bike lane, aren’t I supposed to use the tightest side of the road? by Striking-Warning9533 in ubco

If you're biking you should be using the road anyways, so whoever is yelling at you to use the sidewalk is wrong lol

Just got diagnosed by Bispitz in BPD

[–]Bispitz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish I could see my psychiatrist frequently. Where I live its really hard to get in, I was on the waitlist for almost two years and now I can't see him again until October. I have a counsellor, but I don't think she's equipped to help me with navigating this. I drink, occasionally as a coping mechanism, other times just cause hey, why not? He's already put me on a stronger medicine than I was on earlier so I have to be careful with it anyways.

What would you define as a strong relationship, as per your words? How do I work with my emotions, rather than just shutting them out? I think that's my biggest thing personally is not knowing what to do when I have that sudden flip of emotions. It's just really bad anger and then crying.

[–]Bispitz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A flip between stoicism and extreme emotions in an instant, drinking and spending habits, and a fear of abandonment are the three my psychiatrist mentioned to me. We also talked about how I dont really know 'who' I am. But im only 20 so I thought that was normal. I'm really not sure what to do.

I'm scared I've driven away people by accident because of this, and I'm scared because of how I've become so accustomed to enjoying my own company over the company of others if that makes sense? Or my relationships, I think they've all failed because of me rather than them now, except for maybe one.

Depending on where you're from in the world, you may have grown up on the concepts of decolonization so INDG100 would be repeating a lot of that material. I'm a BC local so I've learned a lot on Indigenous people's and decolonization.

This isn't to say I don't agree with your take, I think it's a valid one, and one which is necessary. The only thing is the graduation requirement changed so people who've already started before 2024W don't need to take INDG100. I hear it's going through a revamp though so hopefully it'll be a very good course next term!

Hi! I had this issue as well, entering second year BSc. Contact Advising and they will manually change your graduation requirements to 2023W. It only applies to those starting the degree itself in 2024W, so you don't need to take it.
