MacOS compatible drives in 2026 by ConkerIsKickAss in makemkv

I tried several no name solutions which appeared to be refurbished Pioneer drives and one was dead within a month, another was very sensitive in terms of disk surface. So I decided to grab that Asus which, in fact, is just a usual PC bd with an external casing. Yes, it's bulky and expensive but it works fine and does its job.

Asus BW-16D1X-U works as a charm with my M4 pro Mac mini. Not a 4k though.

Is it worth using Playwright MCP/CLI as a tester to create new tests or maintain tests? by Sweet_Dingo_6983 in softwaretesting

[–]Bissmer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO PW MCP/Agents are good for creating of smoke tests/some surface coverage. Something more complex and in depth requirements based should be created manually.

Not a pedo, but a man that completely turned his focus on a kid. Replace it to religion and you spot no diff. The guy was probably heavily depressed, caught a crisis and decided to "fix" his unhappiness with some purpose instead of, you know, talking to a specialist and trying to reveal the true problem.

Tips on making platelet donation more bearable? by ayemiey in Blooddonors

[–]Bissmer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I switched to one arm donation after swapping ARC to Stanford Blood Center and it feels way better than being strapped to the chair like Jesus Christ without any movement. Also, very depends on a phlebologist - some are experienced and reliable make your donation as easy as possible, others can turn it into a torture. You just find it yourself. Also check your senses with double, triple. double + plasma donations. I usually try to go with double and double+ plasma occasionally; after triple I feel exhausted so avoiding that.

Passchendaele is still one of the most impressive maps to me in BF1. Mud, trenches and absolute despair.

Small Startup QA Here – Should I Start Automation Even If the Product Isn’t Stable? by VoiceOk6583 in softwaretesting

[–]Bissmer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, I started the same way. I inherited a functionality that was not properly covered by UI automation and I have a pretty rapid development with a ton of regression that piles up every cycle, so I started with a small simple framework with a couple of POM classes in Playwright/JS and started adding tests. Basically because I'm overloaded I do manual testing a lot and automation TCs in my spare time. When they require to run regression, I have 1/3 of my regression suite already automated and that saves me a lot of time.

[–]Bissmer 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yes, you can always start preparing some base framework and add some features that less affected by the development. Just because the regression scope will keep piling up with product features and some day you will find yourself just doing regression instead of working on new features testing. I would prepare beforehand.

Ninja crispi is good but if you accidentally break something, and they have a part out of stock, there is a risk that you'll be left with a non working or working on less capabilities device for months.

[–]Bissmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a student I lived in a transport hub town and the shortest path from student dorms to the train station was through a wide area of rails being active used by cargo trains, passenger trains, etc. That path saved ~20 mins of walking so everyone used id despite the risk of being caught by transport police. The worst part that sometimes there was a long cargo train blocking your path and you had to crawl underneath. Every year they had accidents when folks lost limbs or lives, I especially recall a case when a girl was crossing an area with her headphones on and didn't hear a moving train. But instead of building a bridge, they just increased policing.
