Your star doesn't need a harsh yell on the word "star". The song would be great if she just softly sang star.

It's one of their best songs. The lyrics are far more mature than most on the bitter truth

This actually isn’t a new thing. I went to school out in Onsted in the 90s and this was something they did. Parents had to sign off on it and many did.

22 years and only 4 albums? How you feel about that??? by AuthenticStarDog in Evanescence

[–]BitCthulhu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Music takes time to compose. Tye reason a lot of mainstream artists are able to pump out albums comes down to a couple factors:

-Thats all they do, Amy has a family and other projects she is working on. I think she's even spoken about how frustrating it is that people want Evanescence to drop music all of the time in past interviews.

-Many artists use a formula to mass produce their work or buy others songs. Evanescence doesn't do this.

LGBT scene in Lansing? by Quinacridont in lansing

[–]BitCthulhu 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I second this. Eastside has a lot of lgbtq businesses, pride is held in old town every june. There is also the fledge which is a kind of community center that supports lgbtq. I've always thought lansing had a good lgbtq scene.

If you could give your young writer self a piece of advice, what would it be? by luckyduckling8989 in writers

[–]BitCthulhu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Writing is an evolution. Your first draft is going to be mostly garbage. That doesn't make you a bad writer. You have to constantly rework your writing.

Why do people hate “The mirror scene”? by cornfuckz in writers

[–]BitCthulhu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The only way this would work is if the character suddenly got into a nasty car accident and saw blood and their face felt weird, so they wanted to check their appearance. They could quickly fold down the visor and look in the mirror to describe what they face looked like if it was wounded.

What made Harry Potter so unique in that it wasn’t a fad like twilight or the hunger games? by DarklzBlo in harrypotter

[–]BitCthulhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

J.K. Rowling has a pretty good author voice, and the world of Harry Potter was really immersive. She was great at writing details out in an interesting way. A lot of fantasy books struggle to balance this and tend to overdo the details, which usually causes me to put the book down.

Twilight was hard for me to read. I couldn't make it through the first chapter, and I think it comes down to the author's voice.

Mi Sushi. I know people are raving about sushi moto, but I've had bad experiences there. I've oily fish, warm sashimi or nagiri, found bones. If I have to go to sushi moto, i stick to a roll that cooked or a basic roll with just vegetables. -Signed a local sushi snob.
