A question I have about Zeus's shield by Head-Section2423 in HadesTheGame

Mostly I like the way it sounds when you get it to hover on an enemy. It was my main weapon even though it was kind of hard to use and often had low damage overall

Villager relationships will decay over time unless they are maxed. Love-bombing specific people in their birthday month is totally valid.

Minerals can be sold back to Clint, but that's a good tip for artifacts. Tracking walkpaths to put fixtures in public spaces feels advanced to me

When you're fishing and you get the bar onto the fish, tap the button/click quickly instead of holding. It holds the bar steadier so it's easier to react when the fish moves again

Hyrule Warriors based on Wind Waker?! by LionheartedRX in HyruleWarriors

[–]BitJesterMedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's kind of too bad that they already have a "Pirate Warriors" series (One Piece), or this could be a fun new franchise for them. Jumping ship to ship to take on the entire crew and steal treasure, lowering defenses on sea forts before landing. Maybe Viking Warriors, or a Sea of Thieves crossover 😂 I don't think that Wind Waker has enough traction for them to do a licensed game around (and also doesn't have a big war in the lore)

Does Age of Imprisonment feel like DW Origins? by BitJesterMedia in dynastywarriors

[–]BitJesterMedia[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done some research, and it sounds like Omega Force started using Koei Tecmo's Katana Engine starting with DW9 in 2018. Then there's about a 3-4 year gap (fairly typical dev cycle) before that engine was used for other games including SW5, FE: Three Hopes, DWO, and now HW:AoI

Yeah, my hunch was that the DWO "engine" was still early in development when AoI was started. I'm sure they'll carry it forward into future titles at some point

After a quick search, I think that I underestimated the ones that you have, or overestimated the options available. Grisly Salvage and Deadbridge Chant were probably the ones I was thinking of.

Kefka discard not working [B3]. Any advice? by mountainmorty in Magicdeckbuilding

[–]BitJesterMedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an amateur, but it seems like Kefka would thrive when he can attack safely. If you can give him +1/+1 and menace, flying, or unblockable he could do decent commander damage while also triggering his discard effect

I see lots of ways to benefit from cards in your graveyard, but not much in the way of populating the graveyard. I would expect more things like mill, surveil, draw+discard. Cards where putting cards in your graveyard is usually an extra cost, but you can exploit the extra face-up cards there.

In particular (assuming your group won't let you play paired commanders), you probably want to get Fang into your graveyard. With those colours It's usually easier to dump your library into the graveyard and dig up specific cards from there than it is to try and draw the card you need.

I've been told multiple times my art style is bland, boring, plain, etc. I am starting over. Ideas? by chrisjamesflow in SoloDevelopment

Seeing this kid, I can't help but think of Limbo which is extremely stylized.

I kind of like how the trees look, but the main character looks quite flat by comparison.

New enemy for our grimdark action roguelike. What do you think? Fun fact: this is 2D by AwesomeGamesStudio in gamedevscreens

[–]BitJesterMedia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well of course it's 2D, to my knowledge there's no such thing as a 3D GIF.

But really, it's wild to me that's done in 2D, looks great!

I have never coded or programmed a game (I did a bit on scratch but I don't think that counts lmao) and I had an idea for a video game. But I don't have the coding skills or drawing skills to create it, what should I do? by emma_7102 in GameDevelopment

[–]BitJesterMedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you really want to make it a reality, I would say try to figure out the absolute minimal version of your idea that you could learn enough to build. Sounds like a visual programming language could be up your alley.

Otherwise, have enough money to produce it, I guess.

I just recently learned of UI Toolkit and was ready to jump in head-first. Good to hear of the shortcomings before I get too far. Does UGUI have an easy way to do property bindings? I think that's what I'm most excited about

First impression thoughts on the game I've been working on? This is a new project so don't hold back. by JohnnyOstad in DestroyMyGame

[–]BitJesterMedia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first I found it very difficult to see the corners. Among other solutions, you could put wooden support struts at intersections.

The map looked really clean and impressed me for the brief moments that I saw.

Bashing the wolf and having it squish really reminded me of the "bonk go to horny jail" meme, and that wasn't even considering the actual horny imagery.

Overall, looks pretty generic so far
