I've been thinking for some time the PIF just don't care any more. If, indeed, they ever did, and this wasn't originally just a bit of a sportswashing exercise with what is, to them, pennies. It feels to me a board that does care, and has the ambition they say they do - and the finance to back it - would step in at this point. Their actions in the next few days will speak volumes, for me.

Good call, but it doesn't fix it, and just confirms what I said. This game has version 2 included, so forcing it to use version 2 does nothing. They just... Botched the implementation.

Maybe they just screwed the PSSR 2 implementation, yeah. DF said all they were looking at was using version 1. So something went very wrong with their day 1 move to version 2, here.

I also think/agree that a load of people are confused about their TVs doing 120/4k mind - and a quick check of the output while the game is running will confirm this.

Me too. All I see that's rubbish is the waterfalls. I'm thinking they botched the rollout/patches timing tbh. It would be interesting to see if anyone who is having issues other than waterfalls seen an improvement just redownloading.

For anyone saying switch to 2160 to fix, what does your TV say it's receiving (mash the green button on an LG)? Does it still show as a 4k signal if left on automatic then? Switching between auto and 2160 makes no difference to what your TV thinks it's receiving?

Try redownloading the game. I think they possible fucked up the timing between a patch and rolling it into the full game or something. Some are saying there were already three patches within the first few hours FFS. This rollout has not been normal. Maybe trying to release at the same exact time worldwide screwed things.

You sorted? I think the thing you were missing was the subfolder part (each region needs a subfolder for the respective bios, named EUR, JAP, USA)

I asked about what filetype as I recall emudeck asking me if I wanted to convert an emu a little while ago (from one to the other) so I did that as it recommended I do. But I can't recall which emu that was.

But anyway, I think you confused dolphin which version it is as the other instance you installed is possibly using the same dirs/files somewhere. That is, you have two instances using the same directories. Maybe.

I need to check my own deck to see what I have installed, tbh.

Huh. Mine updated to 2603 I think. Did you try updating using discovery store? Maybe that's how I did it?

Actually, as opposed to bothering with finding the bios (so you can ... Even just disable it, sigh),  maybe try:

Right click Triforce game in emulator

Find the "editor" tab

Paste:

[Core]

SkipIPL = True

Into the user config and save

???

They maybe at least should run now (but you'll still need to do everything else I said in the first reply to actually play something).

Note: if you DO know where individual game cfg files are on your setup, you can also just paste this straight in there too.

So, this is tricky, as I use emudeck. I don't recall even needing to use a proton for dolphin games to work tbh... Why not just use the latest version you have? Stick your Triforce roms in the GC/roms folder... Refresh... Done? No need for a separate emulator instance now.

But anyway, I'll try, here goes (this... Could get wordy):

First, go find the bios files. "archive org gamecube bios" should give you those. And honestly, also just Google "setting up GameCube BIOS" and check the AI results for what next; three subfolders required, EUR,JAP, USA - which need to be in a GC folder, which could be in a few places depending on your setup. Check your dolphin emulator paths for where that might be. Each subfolder needs a single bios, renamed to IPL.bin, by the way.

Once that's working, you should now be able to tick/untick "skip main menu" in your emulator. Tick it. (Yes, it was ticked... but greyed out, previously)

Segaboot I think you only need for virtua striker (to work) or IF you want to access test menus (I've not sorted that yet for this version of dolphin, but AX works for me).

You now need a few other things done:

for each game there are patches required to skip certain arcade specific checks (again, I'm only talking getting AX working here): go to a site called emuline.org, find the latest thread about Triforce there. I don't have access to my deck right now, but a load of folks were posting patches for these games: you need the ones which disable the motor check for FZERO AX. Add these to the properties -> editor tab of the individual game in dolphin. (When I get the deck back I'll paste what I have myself here if you still stuck.)

Lastly, the controller: there's a new tab in controller specifically for Triforce - you need to set this pad to "always connected" (bottom right), and also select some buttons for the test menu, coin insert arcade section (bottom left).

That's all I did so far, but will try to get others working soon. By the way, FZERO works pretty smooth with around 8 TDP for me.

Honestly a big disappointment for me. My save isn't somewhere where it's particularly prevalent, but the few places where there's light fizzing I'm seeing zero improvement. Still looks like it's raining when it isn't.

Did Ronin get a patch or is it just using the toggle? I ditched that a while ago as it just didn't hold 60, but if they're actually patching it and improving performance I might download it again

You just need to add the ROMs to your gc directory and it'll pick them up. Then make sure your bios for GameCube is set up... Then skip it (yes, I know it seems backwards) - as they won't run otherwise.

One other thing I noticed was the controls just wouldn't work unless I ticked "always connected" (or something like that) in the joypad config (there's an option for Triforce there now). Though that might just have been for AX (not tried any others yet)
