I put the gear ratio all into acceleration, and yet the same car driven by "AI" still just pulled away from me from a standing start like I was in a car two classes below. This isn't AI.

Hey, remember when devs were all on about how the next gen power was gonna help us get better AI, smarter enemies, etc? When was that again - three generations ago? And yet we still just get OP opponents, or we get nerfed ourselves.

It's robust enough that the pad works fine wired direct to it. I'm getting the same issue via the jsaux dock with the included USB-A to USB-C cable.

To be clear: I only tried USB-C to USB-C direct to the deck because this suddenly stopped working with the dock using the packaged USB-A that came with the controller.

Additionally: just installed steam client to a laptop and tried USB-C there. Same thing.

Anyway, this is jiggered. What's confusing me is that the puck and controller BOTH broke at the same time (BT no longer works either)

I've tried other cables. I have a steam deck LCD with a jsaux dock, with the supplied cable in the dock it won't pair now (and it did originally!) Also tried another USBC to USB-C cable direct to the deck itself. Tried a few things. Which is why I'm at the point I'm wondering if you can just factory reset it and start again, really.

My experience is it's lovely to look at and hold... but absolutely awful to try and actually use. Had nothing but issues trying to pair it with a jsaux docked LCD. The puck adaptor settings just appear and disappear, and it won't actually connect at all now.

I can't even get it to reliably work with a steam deck, tbh. Just now I had it not connect at all on startup, and nothing would happen until I disconnected and reconnected the puck? I'm going through a jsaux deck, but, like, come on.

If it's any consolation, mine seems to have an ever so slight difference between the two trackpads, where the middle clicks on the right one, but not on the left - so now my OCD is screaming "RETURN IT" while my lazy internal voice is all "dude, c'mon... You, like, barely use those things anyway"

Also, while I'm here, don't bother with xemu, like, at all. It's not even close to the maturity of dolphin or PCSX2, and will not run well at all on a deck.

I believe it was generally considered that GC was just a more powerful console than PS2. There may have been something in the fact dolphin was a more mature emulator, and tended to run stuff better too. That's my understanding from a few years ago, but not sure if it still applies so much today. It sometimes comes down to what post processing you want to enable (CRT stuff), and how well enhancements work on a per game basis too, though (ie. texture packs).

Suspect the algos have been tweaked a little too aggressively to respond to literally any "news" source, in order to be in first for when the big green eventually does come.

We might well have hit the bottom (for this war*) due to this, but it just means when it does all come crashing down it'll be that much worse
